Gleanings

Gleanings

From the Writings of
Peggy Hoehne

I am in the process of gleaning some of my previous writings to post here. Check the listing below to see what is currently available.

glean
v. gleaned, glean·ing, gleans
To gather grain left behind by reapers.
To collect bit by bit: "records from which historians glean their knowledge" (Kemp Malone).

GLEANINGS is the weekly newspaper column I write. It is published in the Independence, Iowa, Bulletin-Journal. I have been writing for the paper since April of 1997.

For the last two years I have been writing a monthly column for my church newsletter. This has been a different type of writing for me but I have found it interesting and fullfilling.

Since September of 2001 I have been a Contributing Editor at Suite 101. My topic is Household Tips. The bi-monthly articles have been fun to do because I can imbed links to other websites within my article as well as giving references at the end.

I have had several stories published in a local magazine, Julien's Journal. One was a prize winning historical piece and the others have been stories about Christmas menories.

I hope you will stay awhile and read some of my writings. I would like to hear what you think. Please share your comments.
