*~This month, we place in the spotlight the face behind the immortal Andros-

Chistopher Khayman Lee

To many fans, the character of Andros was what revived their faith in the PR Universe, redeeming the catastrophies of Power Rangers Turbo. The twist which Andros introduced into the series was a serious no-nonesense tone that fans had been craving for, someone who would stare the enemy down and not sweat a single drop. That was Andros.
A Karovan human from KO-35, a space colony in the Karova System, Andros protected his kind alongside his must trusted ally, Zhane. As a Power Rangers duo, they were unbeatable, outmatching any foe who dared to cross them.

Perhaps his most fiery fuel was the loss of his sister, Karone. He had always carried the guilt of her kidnapping as they telecinetically played as kids. And the fact that he didn't know who was responsible was what drove him to the serious-toned leader he was. As long as he had Zhane by his side, he was able to obliterate scums like the one who stole his sister, and his innocence as a youth.

However, during Dark Spector's KO-35 invasion of 1996, the Karovans were attacked and plagued by Barillian Bugs, and Zhane suffered a near-fatal blow from a monster aiming at Andros. After escaping, Andros placed Zhane in cryo-genenic containment for the next two years just to keep him alive.

The tragedy with Zhane left Andros to condemn himself to always work alone, and would never consciously allow himself to have a teammate again. For without the accountablility, there was no risk of such a pain as with Zhane.

He would continue on his missions, doning a crimson cloak to spy on Dark Spector's happenings, gathering any and all information possible about the recent capture of his mentor, Zordon. That is, until he was discovered by Goldar at one of the largest villain gatherings of all time.

Without fear, but also with wisdom, Andros battled the likes of Goldar and Lord Zedd long enough to escape on his glider, and survived the following Quantron attack with ease. However, upon returning to his Astro Megaship, he'd find four intruders who he didn't intend to invite to tea and crumpets.

Battling the former Turbo Rangers, Andros came to realize that they were potential allies, but allies who knew nothing of space travel. They were mere earth-bound Rangers, and therefore useless to him. He wasn't about to let anything slow him down.

But he'd have to face the reality of it all- he needed all the help he could get to rescue Zordon. Again with hesitation always on the back of his mind, Andros would choose to endow the Turbos with Astro Morphers rather then sending them packing back to Earth. And so was the birth of the beginning of the Space Ranger team.

Still haunted by the loss of Karone and Zhane, Andros' passion flared upon discovering it was Darkonda who stole his sister, making Darkonda the top-fellow on his hitlist.

After many death-defying battles and escapes, Andros would have an epiphany the likes of which he'd never imagine- not only was Karone still alive, but she was one of his arch-rivals of the past year, Astronema.

His attempts at convincing her of the truth were only justified by their lockets, which had pictures of their sibling as a child. After enough time had passed, Karone would secretly disband from Dark Spector's forces and ally with the Rangers, even offering them to help rescue Zordon.

And now with Zhane awaken from cryo containment and revived fully, it seemed that Andros' life was on track for the first time since childhood. As it would turn out, he was merely in the eye of the storm.

When Karone was captured again a surgically implanted with cybernetics, Astronema was back. For Andros, this was the final stretch. He had to somehow save his sister and end the tyranny of Dark Spector before anything else happened.

Andros got his wish. Infiltrating the Dark Fortress, he would simulataneously find Zordon and face his sister in a final duel, as the fate of Earth and numerous planets rested on his shoulders. His final attempt to talk failing, a battered morphed Andros would accidentally deflect Astronema's staff energies back at her, killing her on contact.

Flashbacks of first loosing her all those years ago returned in an instant, and all the pain and greif which came with it. However, it was Zordon who reminded Andros of his true duty as a Ranger- to save the universe no matter the cost. With that, Andros had no choice but to shatter Zordon's energy tube to release a wave of life force to discenegrate all evil it touched to restore balance and equity to the universe. Andros had prevailed, with the price of Astronema's life.

In this time of his greatest triumph and darkness, it was Andros' undying courage and love for Karone which would shed the shell of Astronema, and revived his sister within. His dedication had brought his sister back where she belonged.

Though this chapter had ended for Andros, it was not the end of his incredible saga.

He would retire his Morpher in a hidden vault onboard his Megaship only to call upon it again when his Ranger-counterpart, Psycho Red, returned to threaten the survival of the Galaxy Rangers. Together with Leo, Andros would annihilate this long-rivaled Psycho Ranger.

Andros' new mission was now tracking down remants of the empires he helped to destroy. In this case, it was the last of the Machine Empire.

In close contact with Tommy Oliver, Andros prepared Earth for the return of Serpentara, and was able to blast away the last of the Machine Empire Generals alongside his fellow nine Red Rangers. Through his relentless service to the end of Dark Spector's armies, Serpentara's fate was sealed before ever reaching the Earth.
