To sharpen his skills, Blake practiced with Thunder Ninja graduates in deadlier forms of weapons and hand to hand combat. His growing affections for Tori began to negate the spell, but was never strong enough, resulting in confrontations where the Wind Rangers' lives were spared. His conflicted feelings caused him to lose focus in battles, and was often stricken down by a Wind, or by Hunter as punishment. The Lost Ninjas were the first to overwhelm Blake in morphed combat, though was only able to win via assistance from the Winds. After the spell was destroyed, Blake found it in himself to forgive the evil deeds he had done and to join with the Winds against Lothor's ranks.
In a showdown with Dustin, Blake is defeated by the combined forces of all three Wind Ranger energies. However, both he and Dustin are then approached by Tommy Oliver, who recruits them into the Time Force Armada in 3019.
