After viewing the film, answer the following questions in full sentences in your exercise book (Read all questions on this sheet before the movie begins and take notes during the movie on this sheet in response to some of the questions).

1. Describe the narrative of ‘Men In Black’ in detail (at least ½ a page)
2. What does the title ‘Men In Black’ refer to?
3. What genre would you say ‘Men In Black’ belongs to? How did you come to this conclusion? (Does it belong to more than one genre? If so, what features of the other genre can be identified?) In your answer comments on the aspects of;
- setting
- characters
- music / sound effects
- storyline/narrative
that led you to your conclusion
4. Identify who the ‘good’ characters in the movie are, who the ‘bad’ guys are and which characters you think belong in both categories. Explain your choices.
5. Comment on the opening scene of the film (the bug buzzing along, dodging the traffic, doing loop-de-loops and then being splattered on the windscreen of the truck, some of the scene is shown from the bug’s point of view, the truck driver comments ‘Goddamn bug’ as he turns on the wipers). Do you think this is a good/relevant opening given what happens in the rest of the film? Why? Did you find the opening interesting/amusing/eye-catching? Explain.
