Welcome to the wedding pages of Kathryn Jacobsma & Christopher Burse! We're glad you've stopped by!

This website was created for family and friends whom either couldn't attend or who wanted to see that these two actually got hitched, and it wasn't all a hallucination. However, everyone is invited to visit our "Somewhat Traditional" (ie: quirky) wedding!

We were married on Sunday, July 14, 2002, in Northwest Indiana. Our ceremony was at a cute little gazebo at Deep River County Park in Hobart, Indiana. It was 84° degrees with low humidity and a light breeze. Since the seats were in the sunshine, the Groomsmen provided a cooler with bottled water for guests. Heart-shaped fans were also provided as favors, along with bubbles and programs describing the 30-minute ceremony. (Personally, I wanted an air-conditioner under my skirt, but Mom didn't go for it.)

Our reception was held at the Croatian Center in Merrillville, Indiana. This lovely hall was decorated with red & gold centerpieces with glowing candles and white twinkle lights. Guests dined on Hors d'oeuvres while waiting for the Bride & Groom to arrive. Dinner consisted of Roast Tenderloin, Fettucini Alfredo & Broccoli Flourettes, Roast Pork & Apple Stuffing, Mashed Garlic Potatoes, Glazed Baby Carrots, Mixed Greens Salad, Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream, and of course Wedding Cake: White, Chocolate, and Red Velvet cake with Buttercream Frosting (Great. Now my stomache is growling.)

Our first dance was "Sea Of Love" by The Honeydrippers (quite appropriate for a couple of Led Zeppelin nuts!) When Kathryn and her Father, Russell, danced to Glenn Miller's "Moonlight Serenade", Christopher danced with his Mother, Dorothy. Near the end of the song, Russell cut in and briefly danced with Christopher (?!?!) before leading Dorothy in a dance. After the sweet gesture, the Bridal Party danced to Queen's "You're My Best Friend", then everyone boogied the night away to the sounds of Set The Night To Music!

Just like all other weddings, this one didn't go off without a hitch. Our worst incident was the loss of a Bridesmaid. Colleen Reinert, Kathryn's dear friend, was in an automobile mishap while on her way to the rehersal. While Coll and her husband Tony were okay, they were unable to attend either the rehersal or the wedding. At the last minute, the Best Man's wife filled in for attending to the ceremony music (Tony Reinert's position) and all went well after all.

We do hope you enjoy your visit here. See the pretty, sparkly menu to the right? That's where your surfing begins. Please be sure to sign our guestbook, and we'd appreciate it if you voted for our website via the annoying popup!

Hugs,
Chris & Kat!
