Lime Butterfly ready to emerge.
If it has not been attacked by parasites or predators, the pupa develops normally.
In due course, the pupa will turn dark, an indication that the adult butterfly inside is
ready to emerge. In this picture, some of the wing markings can be seen through the
thin, translucent pupal case.
