 Comfort In Grief

I've spent much time in my life, searching the Scriptures for comfort in sorrow. I knew I was not alone in suffering:

* Rachel weeping for her children, because they were not. Jeremiah 31:15

* In Ramah was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not. Matthew 2:18

The earth is a sinful place, and there is always suffering. But in the Bible, there are many promises God made, to give us comfort in our grief . . .

* Be anxious for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6,7

* Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one can take away your joy. John 16:22

* They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. Psalm 126:5

* Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. Psalm 30:5

* You have collected all my tears in your bottle. Psalm 56:8

* And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Revelation 7:17

* Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27-28

     . . . and complete joy in Heaven . . .

* God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. Revelation 7:17

* And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain. . . Revelation 21:4
