THE BACHELOR VI 10/28/04
Q. What did you think about tonight’s episode, in general?
A. I was a little surprised he sent Andrea home before the overnight dates, I would have thought she would be staying for another week or two.
On the other hand, I was not surprised to see Jayne go, she proved to be too volatile and rude. I could not envision Byron developing romantic feelings towards her, even while she was portraying herself as being sweet and shy. I feel someone who actually was that introverted and shy would have avoided a controversy, exiting with a little more charm and grace.
Q. What is your opinion of Jayne’s outbursts and disappearance?
A. I am having a problem accepting these shows as a reality TV series, seeing all the scenes that have been obviously created by the producers. I did not believe for a moment Jayne could walk away and simply disappear into the night, considering all the production staff, available on the set, carrying two-way communication devices. If someone does “get lost” it is probably with the Producer’s blessings. Too much scripted drama, in my opinion.
Q. Two opposing personalities, Cherisse and Cynthia. Why has Byron kept both of them all this time?
A. He likes Cherisse, and probably finds her classy and beautiful, an addictive combination in my opinion. She is also unobtrusive, and Byron may not have had the heart to send her away just yet.
Cynthia is another matter: I feel our boy might have wanted to keep her around for the overnight dates, since he does appear to have a grand time “snuggling” with her. I do not see much intellectual conversation going on between them, but the action appears to make up for it. Cynthia did behave a little “better” this week, during the rose ceremony. Either that or the videographers and editors took pity on her, for a change. Did you notice they did not show a full-body shot of her walking to and from where Byron was standing? Even so, she did manage to slip in a dubious sounding “hot digitty dog” while accepting his rose. Anyway, it seems to be her turn to create a scene with Byron during next week’s episode.
Q. You still believe there may be “something about Mary?”
A. Mary’s behavior reminds me a little of Helene’s in B-2. I don’t know if you have noticed, but she has taken the initiative. She created the right amount of drama, last week, when she walked away from the group, forcing Byron to go after her. Mary did not only plant the seed she may be going home voluntarily, if the women continued to make her life uncomfortable, but also opened his interest by telling Byron she thought something could develop between them, in the future. There is nothing better than one of those “suspenseful challenges” to make these Bachelor “wonder-boys” forget everyone else in the show! Our boy seemed as excited as a puppy, in Mary’s presence.
Mary appears to control the situation, whenever they are together, and Byron looks at ease going along with her, making me believe our “trout-boy” bit Mary’s hook, line, and sinker. More power to her!
Q. You’re too much! Give me an early prediction of which ones will be the last two standing. Since you’re at it, tell me also who will be, in your opinion, Byron’s final choice.
A. I am not Houdini and may be wrong, but believe the last two will be Tanya and Mary. Something about Tanya I can’t place a finger on, but I find it strange she keeps receiving a rose every week, while Byron does not appear to spend more than a few minutes with her on each episode. I feel the producers may have edited out some interesting scenes between Tanya and Byron but, in the end, it will be Mary receiving the final rose.
Q. Next week are the overnight visits, they should be interesting.
A. I look forward to next week! I believe someone, whose voice seemed familiar, gives Byron an ultimatum similar to the one Charlie gave Trista during her run. I hope Byron’s answer was not as devastating as Trista’s, or else someone is going to loose interest in our boy fairly quickly.
