THE BACHELOR VI 09/23/04
Q. I must begin by officially wishing you and your new wife the best, you certainly know how to keep a secret!
A. Thanks Wendy! I would like to take this moment to thank all the well-wishers, I am still trying to catch up with your e-mails.
Q. What did you think of the new changes on the show?
A. I thought it was interesting to see two completely different men trying out for the main character. It was, in my opinion, a nice twist. I was also fairly successful predicting who was going to feel attracted to Byron or Jay.
Q. Can you really know something like that?
A. Actually, it is not too difficult predicting what type of men, or woman; an individual may feel attracted to, as long as you know some basic information about the person making the decision. I dislike generalizing, but you can do a pretty good job if you are observant and know a little about human interactions.
Q. What is your impression of Byron?
A. It is too soon to tell, since we were not actually exposed to him very much. He appears to be fairly personable and levelheaded: an experienced adventurer who likes and feels at ease in the company of women. He may beat Bob’s “snuggle record”, the only difference is Byron is not so hung up on “going Hollywood and/or making money”. It is also my opinion he does not mind taking risks in his life, and dislikes anything that would interfere with his problem-free lifestyle. I personally believe this may be the key to identifying what type of woman Byron is going to be attracted to. Right off the top of my head I can tell you a handful of women that will probably not make it to the end, for one reason or another.
Q. Give me a few names.
A. This is only an educated guess, but I feel Amanda, Leina, Elizabeth, Susie, Wende, and Kristie will probably not make it to the home visits. Others like Andrea and Krysta may stay a while, solely for their entertainment value. All of these shows now need a "wicked witch" to keep the suspense going, Krysta seems to have the honors on this series. Andrea turned out to be completely opposite from how I envisioned her during the first 10 minutes of the show. Her antics and melodrama will probably entertain us for a while, as long as she does not overwhelm Byron too much during their one on one time.
Q. She is in great shape!
A. True, but nowadays people have a tendency to concentrate too much on developing their external attributes, while neglecting themselves in all other areas. Andrea appears to lack self-assurance and has difficulty controlling her emotions: two attributes that may indicate underlying issues, or unresolved problems, in her personal life.
Q. Which ones do you see getting close to Byron?
A. It is too soon to say, I would venture to guess Jayne, Cheresse, Natalie, Ashley, Kelly, Tanya, and Cynthia could stay awhile if they interact well with Byron. We will have to see what happens next week when the dates begin in order to have a clearer picture.
Q. All right, you are not going to give us a lame answer this time. Give me an educated guess as to who are the two ex-bachelorettes coming next week. I want two names!
A. Wendy dear, you can be extremely pushy at times…….
Well, we now know both are brunettes and one is slightly taller than the other one. This knock down one of my theories, since I had previously thought Gwen, from B-2, might have been one of them. I still believe they are both individuals who were well liked and left the show gracefully.
Byron is not a spring chicken, therefore, I do not believe the Producers would bring back someone too young. This narrows the field significantly, if you think about it. Don’t hold me to it, but my wild guess goes with either Estella (B-4), Mary (B-4), Christina (B-3), or Heather (Tex from B-2).
I am playing detective, and am not very good at it; therefore I may be totally off the mark.
Q. Will any of them stay the distance?
A. I personally do not believe so. I can not envision any of these women enjoying Byron’s lifestyle on a long-term basis, no matter how wealthy he may be. Nevertheless, of my imaginary group, I feel Byron would specially enjoy Mary’s company.
