Q. I thought we were going to see the ending last night, and now we have to wait another week. Anyway, what did you think of the show?
A. I believed this was going to be a two-hour special, and the finale was going to be shown after the reunion, but I was obviously wrong. Like most of these “Tell all” reunions, not much was said we didn’t already know.
This show has continuously made a habit of omitting conversations and situations where the viewer could get a real glimpse of what the people were feeling and saying during their conversations, and this reunion segment was no different. I am certain there were many contestants, from both sides, who felt disappointed with the whole concept, and probably had plenty to say. I was expecting to hear their actual opinions on the main character and the money angle.
Q. Paige received a lot of airtime. What did you think of her, and do you believe Rob and her could make it happen?
A. It was nice to see her again. I always liked Paige; she has a bubbly personality that made me like her even when I had a tough time believing she was as naive as she tried to portray in front of the cameras. Still, I find her very personable.
I do not believe there will be wedding bells, but Paige and Rob appear to have begun some type of friendship that may even be long term. I honestly wish Paige the best.
Q. Let’s talk about Erin and the final two men.
A. I honestly do not know Erin’s feelings for either Chad or Wade. She has not mentioned any plans of what she and whomever she chooses will do after the show, or how their relationship will evolve, making me believe she only has the adventure and money on her mind.
I did catch her in a little white lie, in last night’s show. During the replay of the first scene, Erin was heard telling Rob she “didn’t know what happened, but he had sort of grabbed her heart”, right before the ring ceremony. A few scenes later, she is seen telling Rob she was choosing the million because she was being true to her heart and did not have any romantic feelings for him. I only have what I see on the show to form my opinions, and it is difficult for me to guess what is going on when a show is based on half-truths and deception.
Q. Do you believe she is deceiving all of us?
A. I might be wrong, but this makes me question any statements she may say about Chad or Wade, and reinforces the notion she could be saying whatever she feels is appropriate for the moment, as long as it helps her reach her goal. I still maintain my opinion Erin would choose love over money if she was confronted by someone she had truly and unconditionally fallen in love with. I just believe she has not found this person yet.
Q. I know you’ve been ignoring my requests for a prediction, but you are not getting away with it this time. Who do you believe she will choose, and, is he going to go for Erin or the money?
A. It is very difficult to give a prediction on this show, since it is full of twists and deception. I would be guessing and nothing more. I feel Erin does not show any emotion when she is with either one of the two finalists, even though the editing and her voiceovers make it appear she leans towards Chad. I don’t know if there is going to be a new twist, but believe Erin will walk out of this one alone, or at least will not end up with any type of long-term relationship with whomever she has chosen.
Just to make you happy I am going to give a “hail Mary” prediction and guess she will choose Wade. Don’t hold me to it, even if it turns out I am right, for all I am doing is crystalballing on this one. I am just going to be happy when these two series are over.
Q. Bachelor 4 begins in just a few weeks. Are you looking forward to it?
A. I honestly do look forward to Bachelor 4. Bob should make the show interesting, especially with the few changes, in the format, ABC has promised. Who knows, we may even receive the surprise of our lives seeing Bob actually fall in love with one of the contestants and proposing to her.
