Chocolate Slice

2 Points Per Serving

 

4 egg whites

1/4 cup sugar

1/2 cup canned pie apples, no added sugar or apple sauce

1/2 cup fat-free milk

1 1/2 tsp vanilla essence

1/4 cup low calorie chocolate syrup

1 cup plain flour

3 tbsp cocoa powder

2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda

1/4 cup brown sugar

 

1. Preheat oven to 380ºF. Line a 9-inch cake tin with baking paper. 2. Beat the egg whites until soft peaks form then gradually beat in the sugar. Fold in the apples, milk, vanilla and topping. In a separate bowl, sift in the flour, cocoa, baking powder and bicarbonate of soda then add the brown sugar 3. Fold the flour mixture into the egg mixture until just combined. Spoon into the prepared tin. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until cooked. Cool and cut into 12 slices.

TIP! To help the baking paper stay in place, spray the slice tin lightly with cooking spray before lining it with the paper.
