General Information:
Dr.C.L.Prabhakar, Prof. &
HOD of Department of Sanskrit, National College,
Jayanagar, founded the Kendra
in 1994. The Kendra that started off with 4
members today has more than
600 members all over the world.
Objectives of the Kendra:
-
To impart training in the recitation of
the Veda mantras, Veda suktas(such as-Shanthi Mantras, PurushaSuktam, SriSuktam,
NarayanaSuktam, Namakam, Chamakam, Mahanyasam, Mahanarayanopanishat, Mantrapushpam,
Arunaprashnam, NavagrahaMantras, etc….) useful for the "Nitya Karma Anushtana"
like Sandhya Vandanam, Devatarchana, etc…. for free of cost. The classes
will include explanation to what is being recited.

To provide some basics of Sanskrit language
to the students for correct and meaningful recitation

To conduct lectures, lecture demonstrations
and cultural festivities related to the Vedas, Religion, Practice and Philosophy.

In particular, to celebrate the important
utsavas like MahaShivaratri, RamaNavami, GaneshaChaturti, Purandara &
Tyagaraja Aradhana & GitaJayanti.
The People Involved:
Dr.C.L.Prabhakar and many other erudite
scholars in the field of Sanskrit and Vedic Literature handle the classes
at the Kendra.
Dr.C.L.Prabhakar is also the President
of the World Association of Vedic Studies (WAVES, USA), India Branch, Bangalore
