"FEAR LESS"
by Bro. Gregory Wamsley

There is all kinds of talk these days about "Homeland Security." People all over the country are allowing themselves to become fearful of all kinds of things. Some are even fearful for the physical ordeal they are enduring. In God's word, the Bible, we learn that Righteousness perverted is sin, love perverted is hate, and faith perverted is fear. The first statement of fear in the Bible is found in Genesis 3:10. After disobeying God, Adam said, "I was afraid." Faith and fear are closely related. They work the same way but produce the opposite results. There are those who do not know God nor have they ever accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. These people when met with fearful means have nothing to cling to in life. However, if you are a believer and are trusting Jesus Christ to be Lord over your life then you have no need to fear. When Satan brings stress, trouble, disease, and fear into your life be comforted in God's very own promise that there is faith available in Jesus Christ. Putting your faith to work in Christ Jesus will always help you overcome fear. Fear is a fake faith. No fake has power over the real thing. Would you allow someone to put you in bondage? Then why let Satan put you in the bondage of fear? Fear is bondage.

Hebrews 2:14-15: Foreasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the Devil; and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

Before Christ took authority away from Satan people were in fear of death, and were all their lifetime subject to bondage. Don't allow fear to place you in bondage! If you are a born again child of God then your new spirit cannot produce fear. It can however receive it, act upon it, and give place to it. This fear doesn't come from you of God. It comes from Satan. Fear is one of Satan's greatest weapons. However, Romans 8:15 give us believers an out.

For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again I say unto fear; but you have received a spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Did you see that? That word "Abba" is Aramaic meaning intimacy (Daddy). When we were little and we became fearful we'd run to Daddy. As believers, if we allow Satan to make us fearful, run to God the Father. The type of fear I'm talking about is a spiritual satanic force and must be dealt with in a spiritual Godly way. Satan has always challenged God's words with doubt and fear. Satan wants you to not have faith in God, to believe that the promises in His written word are powerless and won't work for you! The Bible tells us in John 8:44 that ". . . for he (Satan) is a liar, and the father of it."

If we feed on fear we'll never produce the faith power needed to give us victory over life's problems. Worry is the fertile soil in which fear grows. Don't plant fear into your life. I've learned to trust in God and God alone. I don't think fearfully, nor walk in fear, nor live in fear. I have a fear of reverence for God but not for Satan or anything he can do to me. Did you know that the words "Fear Not" appear over 60 times in the Bible? So come what may, be it trouble, peril, stress, disease and even death, I'll "Fear Not" because God is in control. Nothing will happen to me that He doesn't already know about, or hasn't already given me the victory over in Christ Jesus! I strive to meditate on God's word instead of worrying. In Psalms 118:6 it says, "The Lord is on my side, I will not fear." So the next time you find Satan trying to fill your life with fear, don't be fearful, but rather have faith in your Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, then face life and "FEAR LESS."

~ GOOD NEWS ~

If you have never accepted Jesus Christ into your heart as Savior and Lord then by all means be afraid, be very afraid. As an unsaved person any day, at any time you could be ushered into eternity in Hell fire! However, if you no longer want to be Satan's puppet, and are sick and tired of him controlling your life with fear, then switch Masters. Trust in Jesus Christ to come into your life and save you from your current sinful situation. Admit to Him in prayer that you are a sinner and are in need of a Savior. Accept him into your heart as Savior and Lord. God's word, the Bible, commands us to "Repent," (turn away from all sin) and read and study God's word. By doing this you will learn of the new birth and life you've been given in Christ Jesus!

TESTIMONY

"HOW THE LORD SAVED ME"
By Brother Dan Harney

Jesus Christ, our Savior, is the Great Lion of Judah!

Have you ever felt that nothing could go wrong in your life and that everything you ever wanted seemed to come your way? Well, that was me a few years back. I had it all: a beautiful wife, two great sons, a big house, a successful career, and, of course, money in the bank! But, it went to my head. Satan got hold of me and even though I was blind at the time, I now believe the old saying: "You shouldn't give the devil a ride because he'll always want to drive!"

I let the devil have his way with me. It started with me looking at pornographic videos and ended up with having affairs. When things are going right in one's life, they measure what's "right" by the possessions they have and the human relationships they make along the way. They also begin to thing that "enough" is just "never enough." The devil has a way of making you think you need more!

Oh, for a while I went to church all right, but I was only fooling others and myself. Matthew 23:28 tells us: "Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity."

On February 2, 1995, I gave my life to the Lord. The Holy Spirit pushed me out of my chair, literally lifted me up during an altar call. I was a broken man before the Lord, because I had lost my wife, my job, and I was in prison.

Now that I have Jesus Christ in my life, I'm a new creation. I have a joy as never before! So, my message is this: Turn to the Lord and surrender all to him. You can't do it alone. He will deliver you!

If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord, then in prayer plead the Gospel truth that: You cannot save yourself and you must confess to Him that you are a sinner and are in need of a Savior. Accept Him into your heart as Savior and Lord. Christ commands that one must repent from their sins. Read His word (the Bible) and learn of the NEW BIRTH given in Christ. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved. . . ." Acts 16:31

"THE DOGWOOD TREE"
Author unknown
Submitted by Sis. Emily Fulcher

When Christ was on earth, the dogwood grew
To a towering size with a lovely hue.
Its branches were strong and interwoven
And for Christ's cross its timbers were chosen.

Being distressed at the use of the wood
Christ made a promise which still holds good:
"Not ever again shall the dogwood grow
To be large enough for a tree, and so

Slender and twisted it shall always be
With cross-shaped blossoms for all to see.
The petals shall have bloodstains marked brown
And in the blossom's center a thorny crown.

All who see it will think of me,
Nailed to a cross from a dogwood tree.
Protected and cherished this tree shall be
A reflection to all of my agony."

Know that the Lord, He is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
Psalm 100:3

"IT'S A SPIRIT THING"
By Brother Gregory Wamsley

It's not a white or black thing ~ it's a Spirit thing.

Jesus saved my life and taught my heart to sing,
Walking this Christian walk ~ it's a Spirit thing.

Being a part of the Bride of Christ,
The Holy Ghost is the wedding ring,
It's not a fairy tale ~ it's a Spirit thing.

When your flesh fails, and your heartaches ping,
Get your true identity in Christ ~ it's a Spirit thing.

Whis writer, one day, to Heaven Christ will bring,
I thank my Savior and Lord ~ it's a Spirit thing!

"MAJESTY"
By Jack Hayford

Majesty, worship his majesty,
Unto Jesus be all glory, honor, and praise.
Majesty, kingdom authority
Flow from his throne unto his own;
His anthem raise.

So exalt, lift up on high the name of Jesus,
Magnify, come glorify Christ Jesus the King.

Majesty, worship his majesty;
Jesus who died, now glorified, King of all Kings.
