THE UHAUL EXPERIENCE
OUR Story
The day after my last Uhaul trailer rental, I had a "CONFIRMED RESERVATION" to pick up a Uhaul 26-foot truck in Sebring, FL and move all my wife's things to our apartment in Gainesville, FL. The local Uhaul regional office is supposed to call you the day before you pick it up. I waited and they called that Friday about 6:00 P.M. they told me they did not have the truck for me. They asked if a smaller truck with a trailer would be okay. I said "YES, any truck that can pull a 6x12 trailer would be fine. This seemed sort of strange to me, one week prior I had made the reservation on the Uhaul website and printed out my
"CONFIRMED RESERVATION"
But they didn't have a truck for me. The next day (Saturday) we waited, and waited and waited. We stayed home expecting a call at any moment. Finally they called around 5:00PM to tell us they expected a truck maybe the next day. Sunday, came and went no truck. Monday and Tuesday, Ditto. Wendesday they told us a pick-up location and time. So my wife and I went to the location at the time. 11:00A.M. the rental agent explained that the truck was out and would not be there till 8:00P.M. I drove around and found another Uhaul rental place, walked right in and rented a 17" truck and a 6x12 trailer. The combonation I CLEARLY told the regional office would be okay with me. I moved my things 4 days late and had to rush like a madman because Uhaul is a greedy, disgusting corportation. I lost 4 days of unpacking, that I desperately needed.
