i am soooo sick of all this talk about college. i mean, why is it such a big deal? i know i'm going to get into college. it's just a matter of how much scholarship money i'll be able to get. and even if i don't get scholarships to schools i want to go to, there's always UF and that Florida Scholar's thing. besides, my mom teaches at UM so i get free tuition there. i can't wait to just choose a school and get out of high school. ok, i'm done complaining. just had to get my gripe of the day of out of my system. on to bigger and better things. you know what i can't stand? political correctness!!! it is taken to such a ludicrous extent. well, it seems that i'm not done with my complaining for today. all political correctness is, is trying WAY too hard not to offend people. well i think that sometimes people need offending. and i'm sorry, but i'm not going to perpetually worry about whether i'm stepping on someone else's toes or not. of course, i DO realize the need for tact and perfunctory politeness in certain situations, but the way people are acting now is just overkill. ok, here's an example. in the dade county public school system, we are supposed to call our teachers "facilitators." And our teachers(wait! i mean "facilitators") must now call our homework "home learning experiences." is that not the biggest crock of *insert explitive here* that you've ever heard? i think it's so ridiculous. |
