I now have an address: send beer! London, June 6, 2000. Hi again, Just a quick one this time, to tell you all that I HAVE AN ADDRESS! I moved into the place on the weekend. It's in Shoreditch (just off Hoxton Rd) which is apparently a damn trendy area. It has a feel a little bit like Ultimo. The building is an ex-block of council flats (there are four blocks on the estate and the one I look at through my bedroom window is truly depressingly horrible) but it's been done up inside. Even better, the landlord who just bought my place also just bought a whole lot of brand new Ikea furniture for it :-). At the moment it's just me and Steve "Slumlord" Farquhar (the landlord -- 22 and already owns four units on the estate) but we'll get someone else in this week and Steve will move out when he buys his next place. So I'm getting a furnished double room in an up-and-coming trendy part of London for 95 quid a week -- including (local) phone, cable TV, electricity, gas, water, council tax, etc, etc. Not too bad. And here's the best thing (you're all going to groan): it's less than 15 minutes walk to work! Speaking of work, it's going swimmingly. They have beers upstairs on Friday so I hoed into the Stella and met some more people and they're all quite friendly. Not to mention good looking (plenty of design types around, if you know what I mean ;-). Doesn't look like I'm going to get paid for a while though, but I'll live. But here's the important bit... my new address! You may send Violet Crumbles, Cherry Ripes, newly released TISM, Powderfinger and Even CDs, cases of James Boag's Premium, Two Dogs and decent radio stations to: Robert Atkins [ somewhere -- email me if you want it :-) ] Shoreditch London, E2 8LE Actually, if you want to send packages, it'd be better to send them to my work address: Icon MediaLab Classic House 180 Old St London, EC1V 9BP Phone: +44 20 7549 0226 (or 020 7549 0226 if you happen to be in London).
