My Second Favourite Bush

By The Poison Pen

On September 4, 2000, George W. Bush became my second favourite Bush. You already know the first one.

What is it that Bush did to make me respect him (at least somewhat anyway)? Simple. He told the truth, and he didn't back down, inspite of the political ramafications and repercussions.

For those of you not in the loop, here's what happened. George and his running mate, Dick Cheney were in Naperville, Illinois addressing the average ignorant American on this, that and the other thing. George perhaps didn't realize his microphone was on (but hopefully he did) and leaned over to Cheney and said "There's Clymer ... he's a major league asshole".

Who is Clymer? Well, it's actually Adam Clymer. He's a typical dumb shit. Ooops, I meant to say he's a "journalist". Ah, actually, it's the same thing. Clymer is a writer for the New York Times. He's also a rather goofy looking bastard.

Anyway, I don't really care what Clymer writes, although I'm sure that whatever he's written about Bush was the justification for Bush's comment. By the way, Cheney (God bless him) gave a confirmatory "Absolutely" to George W.'s comment. Back to my point though, Clymer is a "journalist" and so part of the parasitic media. Yes, I know it's a generalization but I don't care, I'm lumping him in that group anyway. So, basically, he's an asshole.

Out of the numerous journalists I have read / watched / listened to, I can honestly say I have respect for only one so far ... Mike Wallace. Other than that, the rest can blow me.

But it wasn't Bush's comment alone that made me respect him somewhat (actually, I still fear him - I fear any man that goes for the religious right wing vote). What made me respect George W. is that he didn't back down from his comment.

Those cock-sucking press-vultures asked him afterward if he was sorry for what he said and whether he would apologize. George replied that he was sorry the American people had heard him utter that epithet and that the microphone was on. Another stupid boneheaded journalists that couldn't pick up on the hint asked him again if he would apologize. Hello? Is this thing on? He said he was sorry the American people heard it and sorry that the microphone was on.

Conclusion? He's not sorry he called Clymer an asshole, nor should he be. See the Media Whores article to learn why this is my position. The point is that the press started to pressure Bush and he didn't back down, regardless of the popularity of his comment. This is actually something that ought to be encouraged in a presidential candidate.

It's far worse to have a candidate pull a cock-sucking-Clintonism and flip-flop the minute he gets caught. It's too Jimmy Swaggart (with tears in his eyes "I have sinned! blah, blah, blah"). Here's a man with enough balls to stand by his convictions. And why shouldn't he? If he thinks Clymer is an asshole then he shouldn't be flip-flopping his opinion just because the public heard him utter it.

Instead of chastising Bush, he should be praised to no end. It's about time a public political figure had the balls to say what he thought, and not cave to the political incorrectness bullshit.

Truth is an absolute defence. Journalists are assholes. But aside from that, the most important thing is the truth. Bush said it. He meant it. And he stood by it. This is why Bush is deserving of some respect. So to all you yankees out there, on election day, do us all a favour and avoid voting another democratic shithead into office. This time, put someone in there with balls (that will remain in his pants for a change).
