The ban on the granting of titles and knighthoods has been repealed, BUT...it is tightly regulated now and forevermore. I will not tolerate silly one-upsmanship. This is theatre and nothing more than that.
"Nothing is quite so wretchedly corrupt as an aristocracy which has lost its power but kept its wealth and which still has endless leisure to devote to nothing but banal enjoyments. All its great thoughts and passionate energy are things of the past, and nothing but a host of petty, gnawing vices now cling to it like worms to a corpse." --Alexis De Tocqueville 1805-1859, French Social Philosopher

Royal Scottish Act of Knighthoods, Titles, Lands & Warrants
None shall approach Her Majesty, Margaret Queen of Scotland & the Isles, with verbal petition for knighthood, title, lands and warrants for either themselves or anyone else. Petitions must be written and present a reasonable purpose for acquisition. Subsequently, a hearing must be had before Her Majesty and the People of Scotland at the Court of Her Majesty’s choosing.
Any such items granted are at the sole discretion of Her Majesty, as advised by God. Foreigners petitioning for or being rewarded with knighthoods, titles, lands and warrants must acquire the consent of their own monarchs before transferring those titles for use within their native times or native lands.
Titles may, at any time, be revoked. Titles may also be "attainted," meaning that the holder of said title is in disgrace with Her Majesty though he or she may still hold his or her title and lands. The attainted shall then be addressed by their title with the word LATE added, as in "the late Duke of Edinburgh." Those attainted will also lose both precedence and preferrment in court and with Her Majesty of Scotland.
Translation: If you join the Scarborough Academy of Performing Arts, you may lose your titles if I granted them to you when you were a patron. You will need a pretty good written proposal submitted to the Character instructors and our SAPA director before transference will be allowed. I like to reward good people, but I don’t take kindly to being hauled into any arguments once you join the ranks. I’m just an actor, not actually a monarch, and Scarborough is a business and a show, not reality. Okay?
If you were granted or awarded a title or knighthood at my discretion, please don’t use that as a means of personal gain within your SCA, UEMA, CIRGA or any other similar group or Clan. Ask your “rulers” and “chieftains” nicely, and don’t involve me in your private squabbles. I am not a member of any of these groups and I don’t know what the individual rules are, but I am friendly to those who want to seriously play. Let’s keep it LIGHT, folks.
I’ve been burned, and I’m getting less tolerant and less gracious all the time. Don’t make me take away my joy and other people’s fun because somebody took it too a silly level.
Regarding attainder: if you hold a title and you embarrass me publicly, I will jerk your title or at least ground your butt with the addendum "attainted." I will not broker ill behaviour from anyone who attaches themselves to me. Period.
