Nightmare

I get a scare
Turn in dispair
To see what's there
It's my Nightmare

My courage dies
As I see the eyes
Of my thousand lies
In beastly guise

I take flight
Through dark of night
I cannot fight
This can't be right

It becomes quite clear
It feeds on my fear
Through terror I hear
Nightmare drawing near

I dash to and fro
With nowhere to go
It's sad but I know
I'm moving too slow

There's no way to escape
It's way past too late
To slide past this scape
I'll die at this rate

Beast starts to grin
With lips cruel and thin
It's ugly as sin
With voice sounding of tin

My name he will call
My moral it will fall
I'm feeling so small
Cause Nightmare knows all

Nightmare looks down
I look all around
No escape to be found
So I fall to the ground

I think I may cry
I cannot deny
No matter how hard I try
I'll probably die

I lay in the sand
He reaches his hand
Helping me stand
With benevolenvce grand

So now I ride high
With MAre by my side
We turn battle's tide
And heal tears that were cried

On horses so sleak
We ride like a streak
Helping the weak
Retribution for meak

In darkness they grope
Looking for hope
We help people cope
Throught valley, up slope

So now I have fun
I no longer run
I'm no longer shunned
For Mare calls me Son

I get no more scares
I have no dispair
I know who is there
My protector, Nightmare
