Safe Haven

This is another of my efforts. Here I plan to detail resources for the writer on the web. Also to showcase my own work and create a possible forum for others like myself who enjoy writing for pleasure.

First, a few things about myself: My name is Angela Luck, aka Ambrosia or Majicklady. I am married and have 2 children, 2 dogs, 2 aquariums with about 16 fish and a tiny dwarf hamster named Valor. Some of my art includes my family or my dogs in it. I do not just write, I create other things as well, with photos, graphics, etc. to define my life. You can find some of my work on the Realm of the Dreamers link at the left. Everything there is a work in progress, with exception to a couple of short things. Anyone is welcome to submit to my site, I'll be sure to give you credit.

I started writing when I was in third grade. Some of my work has been entered in national contests for writers and I recieved an honorable mention for my writing in senior high school for a story I wrote which was entered in Scholastic Scope Writing Awards for that year.

I also am a Golden Poet with the National Poets Society, recieving an honorable mention in their contests and publishing in their poetry collection for 1988, 1989, and 1990. I haven't entered any other contests since then, but am preparing now to start entering again.

I am 41 years old, the daughter of a nurse. I was raised by my mother and my grandparents on her side of the family. My father deserted us before my birth. But that didn't leave me an only child. My mother had another girl three years later, my sister, Melissa. I also have 3 half brothers from my father's second marriage, whom I didn't find until I was 30 years old. I have a fairly good relationship with one brother, Lance. I do not speak with my other brothers or my father, more by their choice than mine.

One other point I think I should make, I am bipolar. On some of my pages, I will include some help links for mental health disorders as well. Everyone, not just bipolars, needs a little help sometimes.
