The
calling that I received in 1985 to start publishing a newspaper in the
Hudson Valley was not of men, but of God. There is no doubt within me that
God had indeed answered my prayers to serve Him in a ministry. In His
words, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to
prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jer.
29:11) Having received this word I started the first edition of the Hudson
Valley Love Express, in April 1985.
Over
the years the Lord has been faithful to train me up in His ministry. It is
He that has given to me this vision. He has awakened me many nights and
given me his words of encouragement and love. I pray God to continue in
His guidance and direction for this ministry as well as for my life.
“Lord
God I pray that this vision which is of you is fulfilled in me as your
faithful servant. Let me not fail you in the physical as well as the
spiritual. Let me continue to glorify you in all I do or say, that you may
have preeminence in all my life. Amen.”
Love
Express is divinely ordained of God, and is to be a newspaper for the lost
of this world. Love Express is not to become just another Christian
newspaper. It is not to become a ministry among ministries, but it is to
be directed of the Holy Spirit in Soul Winning. It will be, of God, by
God, and for God. It is not to be a teaching ministry to the saved, but an
edifying ministry to the lost and the saved. It is not to separate the
body of Christ, but to be an all encompassing ministry to the whole body
of Christ.
Love
Express shall be a tool to the churches of Christ, the “born again”
body of Jesus, to take into the highways and byways with the good news of
salvation. The Lord Jesus came to earth to take away our sins and to Save
our souls. The Love Express shall be committed to that ministry which
Jesus suffered and died for upon the cross. It shall be a Soul Winning
Ministry unto God. It shall go forth with the power of the Holy Spirit to
do that which Jesus has called us to. “Go ye into all the world and
preach the Gospel to every creature.” Mark 16:15
Love
Express is not to compromise its high calling with the world, government,
people or churches. Love Express shall not take up issues, whether
political or moral. Love Express is not here to depute religion, politics,
values, needs or any other subject. Love Express is to bring hope to a
dying world through testimonies and articles regarding the many wonderful
works of Jesus Christ in the lives of believers. “Who also hath made us
able ministers of the New Testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit:
for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.” 2Cor. 3:6
Love
Express is to publish the Good News (Gospel) of salvation through Jesus
Christ to the whole world, and to assist to the best of its ability all
who would do the same.
The
Lord has said unto me. “Behold I have called you this day to serve me. I
shall raise up Godly men and women of a good report unto me. Of no
reputation shall they be, but unto great heights shall I raise them up,
for they shall love me and serve me with all their hearts and souls and
spirits.”
