Peter Such (a former Independent Councillor and Town Mayor) created this web site as a personal initiative on behalf of the Town and the Town Council of that time.

Its success led to:
the separate development of the Town Council site as above;
the creation of several other community web sites;
the development of a Berkhamsted 'web ring';
an A-Z Directory.
