Colleen Ross: In Memoriam -- for John Lennon

You died teaching us to live
In song you spoke louder than any politician ever could
Then you were gone, taken from us by someone who didn't listen
and didn't believe.
But I didn't cry out, not out of spite
but because I didn't know or couldn't understand
Now i mourn, not with tears but in the words I write.
You let us see a world without boundaries
love without limits,
think with conviction.
Because you showed us the way
this dream can continue.
You died teaching us to live,
and for that I am grateful.
