"Methos, please. Just give it a chance! I promise you'll enjoy it."
Connor MacLeod sighed in exasperation. In the three weeks since he and Methos had gotten together, things had been going great. Until now.
"Connor, I'm sorry but no." The world's Oldest Man turned away from his lover. "I hate the cold and I don't want to go. So there."
The Highlander was not about to give up so easily. Guilt might work on the other Immortal.
"But, we've been in France for so long..."
"It's been three weeks!" Methos protested.
"...and I haven't been there forever." Connor put a perfect hurt-puppy look on his face. "I thought you would enjoy it."
Methos turned towards him. Gods, that must be a MacLeod trait! He's almost got me convinced. Gotta play it out though. No sense spoiling my fun. "Connor, I don't want to go with you and that's final. Go to Scotland if you want. I'll just stay here where it's warm." There. He'll feel bad and then we'll kiss and make up. Then I'll agree to go.
But Connor had had just about enough. The entire time they had been lovers, Methos had done nothing but criticize and complain. The Highlander was not in the mood for any of the other's games.
"Fine. Stay here. It doesn't matter."
The tone in his voice surprised his lover. "Connor...I was..."
"I thought you might want to go with me. I have to go there on business and hoped you would come too. But I guess it's too much for me to ask."
Stunned, Methos watched as Connor walked out of the apartment. He hadn't meant to make him angry. He just wanted to play. Stupid. He was hoping to take me someplace that meant a lot to him and I messed things up. He sat down and waited for his lover.
When Connor didn't come back, he began to worry. It had been over six hours since he left. What if he wasn't coming back? What if he had been challenged? What if he was dead!
No! He can't be dead! Connor, please come back to me!
The buzz in his head alerted him to the Presence of an Immortal. He jumped up and rushed to the door. If it wasn't Connor, he would probably lose his head. The door opened and a very exhausted Highlander came in.
"Connor!" Methos clutched the man to him. "You came back!"
Connor held his lover tightly against his chest. "Of course I came back. I just wasn't sure you would want to see me."
Methos raised his head. How could he have been so stupid? "I'm sorry. I was being a jerk earlier. About everything. You didn't deserve to be treated like that. Forgive me?"
A warm hand reached up and caressed his cheek. "About Scotland?" He leaned down and nibbled on Methos' ear.
"What about it?" He tried to ignore Connor's mouth. But it was difficult.
"You want to go with me?" He moved his lips to Methos' neck.
Methos knew that he couldn't refuse. Especially since Connor was now...
"I think we'd better go to bed."
Connor continued his teasing. "Scotland?" His hands reached the waistband of Methos' jeans.
A sigh escaped Methos. "Alright. Bed?"
"Your wish is my command." He lifted Methos into his strong arms and carried him to the bed. Gently, he lay his lover on the bed.
Methos smiled. "I think I'm going to like Scotland."
