Karla
Gualin- "Call me 'Francesca" this was the phrase of the Carmina
Villaruel look alike would use to say during her
freshman year in DLSU. If you would to describe her, she
is just simply, cutely
adorable.
A Natural photogenic girl,
Karla would be often seen with her friends (mostly Lynn
or everyone in the class), her arms wrapped around them. Very
malambing, that's the Karla we know. But on the
other side, she is also PILYA. She often asks very
suprising questions in Love or sometimes sex ("are
you a virgin?" or "Masarap ba ang French Kiss?!!")
that would shock anyone coz "wala sa itsura ni
Karla magtanong nang ganun." Also she is one of
the girls in class that has a high kilig
scale every time she sees a really cute guy. But even her
sweet and sunny bright character did not escape her from
the conflict cycle of friendship in her four years in
Lasalle. For nearly 2 and a half years she and old friend
Alona had a major gap (since parehong
mataray sila), in which the two survived a silence
treatment that no one in the class could bridge together
again. But the later shocked the class in the end of
third year by making up pubicly with a hug.... ay
sweet. Show that real friends never die no
matter what.. di ba?
Alona Dinglasan- Next to Mico's strict leadership
quality, Alona is he full time Taray package
of them all. When in reprimanding someone during practice
you could hear these common yet hollering phrases "bawal
yan!!!" "ano paki mo!!!" "Oy ano ba
kayo? PRACTICE NA!!" a crude yet
effective way of getting one's concentration.
Other than that, she is responsible in giving really
Filipino style nicknames to her classmates, especially
the gave birth to the "Bebang" name of Ed. Like
Mico she is also the big sister in her barkada. Always
looking out for the smaller ones there. She also has one
heck of a voice, one thing that she shys away in showing
off. But she can still hit those really high notes good.
Unlike Karla who is more Cheerfull than taray, her
cheerfullness is hidden in her pangaasar and taray
personality, a reason that became a clash between her and
Karla. But Alona never likes to eep
grudges forever. Now they are good friends again.
Ana
Chastine Encarnacion- "Chas"
as friends would
call her, is the class athlete. Muscular
in height and figure, you would never see her wear a
girly outfit, yet her singing voice nearly matches that
of Alona. A varsity in Volleyball (her favorite sport)
until the last few semesters of class and a superb player
too ( the ace we had during PE's fight
between politcal scinence in 2nd year)
Other than her physical stamina she is also a good
debator; bronze and brains alike. One reason why I have
very few pictures of her is that she is camera shy except
in group pics (meaning 10 or 20 of her and other people).
She is also very conservative in her beliefs and
protective of her friends whne it comes to catching one
of them smoking or drinking (usually scarring to shove
them with her fist if she ever catches them again doing
that). She is also a comedian, she usually cracks up
really wild jokes whenever she's in the mood or when with
her friends Karla and company. A pride in the class
becuase of her athletic ability and strenght, she is one
of the class most prized Trophies!!!
Rose Marie Cristobal- This shy and meek lady has a history of being most
wanted in class. A story that all can remeber
during a open forum in Retreat in which two barkadas in
which one where her cousin (Mhelanie)
was part of, became jealous of whom she chose to hang
with. A incident that says pinagaagawan si Rose ng mga
kaibigan nya. Everybody loves Rose and many would want
her to be in thier group. Who wouldn't, though meek and
gentle, she has this warm smile and light aura that
attracts those around her. She is also known for her
inner strenght when it comes to life's harsh realities. A
true friend in need and in deed.
Cristopher
"Toffie" Cruz- woman at heart and always seem
to be dissapearing when you need him, Toffie
is the most wanted by Professors during attendance. Often
times rumor says that he's changing school or course, and
yet in the end of the semester, retreats or class field
trips, he never fails to show up. During the days where
he was still attending most of our classes or maybe even
now, one good memory of him is running for Carl,
Toni or sometimes Eds for his love problems with
whichever current fafa he is with. He is also one of the
original member of the TGIF barkada.
Nowadays we can only hear from him in the class email,
and people complaining that he doesnt text that much. And
yet a true gimmikera in his nature. He is also popular
for because of his brother "R",
and also of his flambouyant personality. A headache in
any professors attendance sheet but a feather of laughter
in the classes heart.
Mhelanie Barrientos - "Lahnie"
or Mel she is the
infamous cousin of Rose arie. Unlike her shy cousin, Mel
is the complete opposite. A total fashion trender, a love
goddes, a woman with major flush of sexiness and charm..
she is the absolute party girl. Game and daring, but also
sweet and emotional, her life is as colorfull as an
showbiz personality who's lovelife is always on the run.
But contrary to her happy go lucky facade, what she
yearns most is the company of her friends. Lara her
best friend and her cousin whom she once fought against
in a tug of war between barkadas (Rose was the rope).,
She is also a good adviser and even though she is
sometimes mataray, deep inside she is as meek and sweet
as her cousin Rose. Other than that she has a great
acting prowess, that stands out during our theatro days.
Kharisma Hippolito- Khariz as she is sweetly nicked
(and also has the charisma in character) is Rose
and Chastine's constant companion. Like Rose who is quiet,
the only time that she does talk is when she is with her
barkada. She can be mataray if she wants to and often
branded as suplada by other because she doesnt mingle
with others when the real reason is that she is shy. But
during the Rose war's issue, she
strongly stayed by Rose's side and in times of trouble
for her friends, she is always there. My two good
memories of her was one, when she got this weird allergic
thing that others say was "Kulam" and she was
holding a rosary while I accomanied her in the room. The
other was those times that she would be fondly teased to
Natz because of thier former closeness to each other.
Though she doesnt say much, her heart tells a lot, one
with good memories and friendship to be cherieshed.
Lara Hernadez - Best friend and former dormate
of Mhelanie. Her charm and simple beauty has reached out
not only to the East Campus bit to the west campus as
well. Where in a lot of Busines Ad guys have
major crushes on both her and her partner in crime. If it
wer Kat to Apes and Jheng to Zhane. She and Mhel are
inseperable. Always together in gimmiks and even in class
absences. During class projects they stick together. He best talent I should say is acting. On how easly she can internalize to a dramatic character in minutes. On how realistically moving her tears are when she cries. Though she has this carefree personality that is not as vivid as that of Mhel, it was quite a suprise for many her hidden talents are. Many would describe her as "may kulo sa loob" because she is a woman deeply shrouded in mystery in which only a few know the real her (even i dont know her that well). But even so, she is liked very much in the class for simply who she is.
