~Reflection~

Diana, Princess of Wales
1961 - 1997

I remember the day, though it's been quite a while
The eyes of the world watched,
as you walked down the aisle.
In your fairy-tale wedding, you resembled a queen
A modern-day Cinderella; every little girl's dream.

As I grew older, a woman I became
My eyes still on you, as you suffered heartache and pain
The scandels erupted, the reporters went wild
What I saw, now, was different than I saw as a child.

I cheered you on, for the courage you showed
for the strength you exuded, as a woman ... Behold !!!
A true princess, a queen, the jewel in the crown
You lived, you loved ... never turning a frown.

I always saw you with a smile on your face
A figure of the public, you exuded such grace
For your courage, your strength, may every woman strive
And model her fashion by a stranger's great life.

Once again, now, the world's eyes turn to you
In all your greatness, we look with different view
Rest now, Diana, in peace and in grace
Love the children in heaven, as you did in this place

In this cold, hard world from whence you were taken
Leaving behind tears and mourning,
the eyes of the world shaken.

[diana]The heavens spill over salty rain; tears of a princess who, looking down years following her death, weeps with heartache and sorrow, for so much ignorance remains, so much hate and uncaring from a world scarred by her passing. “Rest in Peace”, we say, but she cannot. Into generation after next, her legacy survives. Passed down by those who identify with her compassion and her tender, caring ways
for a world tarnished…

Blown off - like a candle in the wind.
