The Error Of Christendom

A serious problem exists within most churches today. This is the problem of a “simple faith”. (It could also be called a false faith.) The examples shown here cover a basic overview of this problem, how it has weakened the churches, why it came about, its effect on Islam and the one possible remedy.

Simple Faith & The “Form” Of Religion

Even the Qur'an mentions this pervasive problem:

Surah 2:120 Never will the Jews or the Christians be satisfied with thee unless thou follow their form of religion. Say: "The Guidance of Allah,-that is the (only) Guidance." Wert thou to follow their desires after the knowledge which hath reached thee, then wouldst thou find neither Protector nor helper against Allah.1

The error of Christendom is not new. It is as old as the human race. This one error is at the root of many others, and it appears in many forms. Basically, it can be described as a “simple faith.” It is believing in “belief.” It is empty. There is no knowledge of what to believe, why one believes, or on whom this belief is based. And unfortunately, it influenced the development of Islam.

An Example From Bible Reading

The Wrong Way To Read The Bible

“Simple faith” scratches only the surface. There is no depth. Consider this interpretation of a common Bible passage on the matter of “faith.”

Genesis 12:1-4 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.
