OUR SWEENEY FAMILY

Daniel Sweeney was born c.1854 in Co. Donegal, Ireland.His wife, Catherine Boyle, was born c.1859 in the same area of Co. Donegal, namely in the Falcarragh/ Moyra area.

In 1885 they arrived in Sydney aboard "Gulf Of Venice" as Assisted Immigrants. They went to the Orange area of New South Wales where Daniel's sister Sarah was living. At the date of sailing they had 4 children but only daughter Sarah accompanied them to Australia. After arrival they had another 10 children.

Both Daniel and Catherine died in Forbes, N.S.W. and are both buried in the Catholic Cemetery at Forbes.
