OUR DOYLE FAMILY

Michael Doyle was born in the heart of Dublin City c.1809., his parents being John Doyle and wife Mary. His family had been in the nearby parish of St. Michan's for over 100 years. In 1827 Michael was transported to Australia, sentenced to 7 years for stealing flannel.The 1828 Census shows he was working in a Chain Gang No.14.

In 1833 Michael married Susannah Taylor, the daughter of convicts, but born in Australia. They moved around New South Wales before finally settling on "Yamma" near Forbes , where both died.

They had 11 children:

Michael and wife Susannah are buried in the DOYLE family plot in the Catholic section of Forbes Cemetery.
