BERNADETTE'S GENEALOGY PAGES

I was born in Forbes, as were my parents. Both sides of my family were early settlers in the Forbes area. My father's people settled here in 1870 and my mother's people settled at Eugowra in 1875. The following names are connected to me through either my father or mother...

WILSON----William John or in later records, John William WILSON was born in Baltimore, U.S.A. c.1808 – 1816.How and when he came to Australia is not known. However, in 1840, he married MARY ANN GOOD(E) in Melbourne, Victoria. His wife came to Australia from Cork, Ireland.

DOYLE ---- Michael Doyle and wife Susannah nee Taylor bought "Yamma" on the Forbes-Eugowra Road and this is where both died. They are buried in the Family plot in Forbes Cemetery.

TAYLOR --- Susannah Doyle was the daughter of convicts, Edward Taylor and ELEANOR BEVERIDGE/BERRIDGE.

MAXWELL ---- Thomas Maxwell and wife Mary Jane nee Sheehy came to Eugowra from the Burragorang Valley and settled at Eulimore where the last 5 of their 8 children were born.

SHEEHY ---- Mary Jane Maxwell was the daughter of John Sheehy, convict from Listowel, Co. Kerry, Ireland, who arrived here in 1823 on the "Brampton."

BROWN ---- Catherine Brown was the wife of John Sheehy. She was a convict from Drogheda, Ireland who arrived here in 1831.

GOOD(E) ---- Mary Anne, wife of John William Wilson, sometimes listed as William John Wilson. Nothing has been found of her after c.1858. She came from Cork, Ireland as an Assisted Immigrant to Pt. Phillip in 1840.

SWEENEY ---- My Grandmother, Catherine Sweeney was born in Orange, N.S.W. shortly after her parents Daniel and Catherine Sweeney nee Boyle arrived from the Falcarragh area in Co. Donegal in 1885.

SYMONS ---- Thomas Symons and wife Ann nee Hawken arrived in Sydney in 1858 with 2 children ( a 3rd was drowned on the voyage.) Thomas came from Tintagel, Cornwall and Ann from St. Teath, Cornwall.
