Mountains are a great place to play, however on average 1 person each summer, between the ages of 18 and 24 are seriously injured on the mountains. Because difficult "scrambles" (a hike up a high mouintain) are so close to town they are often mis-judged. Many hikes are open for great enjoyment. At the information center, you can get great maps that outline hikes The Backcountry guide gives you great ideas to have a 3 day trip near many mountain ranges!
Please be bear aware!

Summer is a zoo in banff, beat the buses, and head to the backcountry.

GREAT GOODIES THAT ARE UNIQUES TO BANFF
Postal Service- It's the Old fasion pick it up at the window, Yup! General Delivery.
Garbage- Haul it yourself. Bear proof bins are located just down the street from you house. 50 bucks if you don't.
Taxi's- There's only one "taxi taxi" 762-3111. $7 will get you just about anywhere!
Transit- The Happy Bus, From one end to the other, every half hour, for a dollar.
