These are some favorite inspirational quotes and thoughts I have gathered from the Web and, some of my own.......

One friend, one person who is truly understanding,
who takes the trouble to listen to us as we consider
our problems, can change our whole outlook on the world.

A man is ethical only when life, as such, is sacred to him,
that of plants and animals as well as that of his fellowman,
and when he devotes himself helpfully to all life that is in
need of help.
- Albert Schweitzer

Remember that your presence is a present to the world.
Remember that you are a unique and unrepeatable creation.
Remember that your life can be what you want it to be.
Remember to take the days just one at a time.
Remember to count your blessings, not your troubles.
Remember that you'll make it through whatever comes along.
Remember that most of the answers you need are within you.
Remember those dreams waiting to be realized.
Remember that decisions are too important to leave to chance.
Remember to always reach for the best that is within you.
Remember that nothing wastes more energy than worry.
Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a
wonderful stroke of luck.
Remember that the longer you carry a grudge, the heavier
it gets.
Remember not to take things too seriously.
Remember to laugh.
Remember that a little love goes a long way.
Remember that happiness is more often found in giving than
getting.
Remember that life's treasures are people, not things.

In the private sanctuary of one's own conscience lies that
spirit,.......... that determination,..... to cast off the old person and
to measure up to the stature of true potential.

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could.
Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in, forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882) American essayist and poet

Three billion people on the face of the earth go to bed
hungry at night, but four billion people go to bed every
night hungry for a simple word of encouragement and
recognition.

Some people answer the call, others have call waiting.

A lot of good arguments are spoiled by some fool
who knows what he is talking about.

Sharing makes you bigger than you are. The more you pour
out, the more life will be able to pour in.

Look at a day when you are supremely satisfied at the end.
It's not a day when you lounge around doing nothing;
it's when you've had everything to do, and you've done it.

- Margaret Thatcher

Life is like a landscape. You live in the midst of it,
but can describe it only from the vantage point of
distance.

Once you become aware of the force for unity in life, you
can't ever forget it. It becomes part of everything you do.
In that respect, this is an extension of a love supreme since
the conception of that force keeps changing shape. My goal
in meditating on this through music, however, remains the
same. and that is to uplift people, as much as I can. To
inspire them to realize more and more of their capacities
for living meaningful lives. Because there certainly is
meaning to life.

Ability is what you're capable of doing.
Motivation determines what you do.
Attitude determines how well you do it.
- Lou Holtz

I have come to hope for a medicine whose deepest commitment
is liberation for us all, a medicine of human freedom.

When you become detached mentally from yourself and concentrate
on helping other people with their difficulties, you will be
able to cope with your own more effectively. Somehow, the
act of self-giving is a personal power-releasing factor.

- Norman Vincent Peale

People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.
When you figure out which it is, you know exactly what to do.

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to
meet a need you have expressed outwardly or inwardly.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to
provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically,
emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend, and they are.

They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then,
without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient
time, this person will say or do something to bring the
relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up or out and force you to take a stand.

What we must realize is that our need has been met, our
desire fulfilled; their work is done. The prayer you sent
up has been answered and it is now time to move on.

When people come into your life for a SEASON, it is because
your turn has come to share, grow, or learn. They may bring
you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you
something you have never done. They usually give you an
unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It is real! But, only for a
season.

You and I want our lives to matter. We want our lives to
make a real difference -- to be of genuine consequence in
the world. We know that there is no satisfaction in merely
going through the motions, even if those motions make us
successful, or even if we have arranged to make those motions
pleasant. We want to know we have made some impact on the
world. In fact, you and I want to contribute to the quality
of life. We want to make the world work.

Whatever you do, you need courage. Whatever course you decide
upon, there is always someone to tell you you are wrong.
There are always difficulties arising which tempt you to
believe that your critics are right. To map out a course of
action and follow it to the end, requires some of the same
courage which a soldier needs.

- Ralph Waldo Emerson

The finest emotion of which we are capable is the mystic
emotion. Herein lies the germ of all art and all true
science. Anyone to whom this feeling is alien, who is no
longer capable of wonderment and lives in a state of fear
is a dead man. To know that what is impenetrable for us
really exists and manifests itself as the highest wisdom
and the most radiant beauty, whose gross forms alone are
intelligible to our poor faculties - this knowledge, this
feeling is the core of the true religious sentiment. In
this sense, and in this sense alone, rank myself among
profoundly religious men.

- Albert Einstein (03/14/1879-1955)

If you want to know what a man's character is really like,
don't ask him to tell you his creed or his code for
everyone has a prettified public version of these.  Simply ask
him to tell you the living person he most admires -- for
hero worship is the truest index of a man's private nature.

- Sydney J. Harris

I hope you enjoyed these  inspirational quotes.  It is my hope that they will bring as much strength and comfort to others as they have to me.  Living with illness is difficult to say the least but a positive attitude and a willingness to "go on" is the best medicine.

In January 2003 I was diagnosed with End Stage Liver Cancer from the Hepatitis Virus.   I still feel if it hadn't been for my positive attitude I would never have made it this far
