Tomorrow Is A Gift

Our Blessed Mother
"I come because I want you to be in Heaven with My Son, Jesus."

The rosary is the book of the blind where souls see... and there, enact the greatest
drama of love, the world has ever known. It is the book of the simple, which initiates
them into mysteries and knowledge more satisfying than the education of other men.
It is the book of the aged, whose eyes close upon the shadow of this world, and open
on the substance of the next. The power of the rosary is beyond description.

The Lie We Love
The Truth about
Foreign Adoption
By E. J. Graff
Forget what hurt you, but never forget what it taught you

January 8, 2007: While browsing through our local Goodwill store I came upon a book in their religious section entitled Medjugorje, The Message written by Wayne Weible, a Protestant newspaper publisher from Myrtle Beach, SC. The caption read.........

"On June 24, 1981, six children in the mountain village of Medjugorje in central Yugoslavia reported that the Virgin Mary had appeared to them on a hillside. Allegedly she has been returning every day since." The 10 secrets foretold to them by the Blessed Mother of the future are to begin during their lifetime.

I had heard of the Blessed Mother appearing in this small, obscure mountainous village of Yugoslavia when my husband and I and our children were stationed at Wiesbaden Air Base, Germany, between 1989-1992 on a military assignment. Our Army-post Catholic Church was offering yearly pilgrimages to Medjugorje and a good friend of mine was directing these pilgrimages... and yet... I gave them little thought at that time, and never felt compelled to join the pilgrimage. This was around the time of civil war in Yugoslavia and foreigners were forewarned of the dangers of traveling there. This memory perked my interest, when I saw the book for sale at the Goodwill a few years later and I purchased it.

"The Blessed Mother says, "All my children think Jesus and I are far away from them, but dear children, we are always beside you. We never leave you, not even for a moment. If you open your hearts you will be able to recognize us with your hearts and you will know how much we love you."
The Visions of the Children.

The author, Wayne Weible, describes learning about the rosary from a Protestant prospective. The word rosary, comes from the Latin and means 'a Garland of Roses', the 'rose' being one of the flowers used to symbolize the Virgin Mary. Most people associate the rosary with the Catholic faith, even though over the years, it has fallen into disuse. However, in recent years the rosary has made a comeback, and not just among Catholics. Many Protestants now say the rosary, recognizing it as a truly biblical form of prayer—after all, the prayers that comprise it come mainly from the Bible.

Mary always directs and guides us to her son, Jesus. The Holy Rosary is considered a perfect prayer because within it lays the awesome story of our salvation. With the rosary, in fact we meditate on the mysteries of joy, sorrow and glory of Jesus. It is a simple prayer... humble, so much like Mary. It is a prayer we can all say together with Her, the Mother of God. With the Hail Mary, we invite her to pray for us and with us. She joins Her prayer to ours. In many apparitions, the heavenly Mother has invited us to say the Rosary as a powerful weapon against evil, and to bring us to true peace.

"Dear Children: I need your prayers, now more than ever before. I beseech you to take your rosary in your hands, now, more than ever before. Grasp it strongly, and pray with all your heart in these difficult times. Thank you for having gathered in such a number and for having responded to my call."
[Message given to the visionary Mirjana on her birthday, March 18, 1992]

Soon I began looking for other books on Medjugorje and found Gifts of Grace by Lone Jensen that brought about miracles of healing and conversion of faith in other's lives, many who had little faith. A friend from our parish offered us a VHS, No Phones in Medjugorje by Char Vance, who had been in the radio business when she suffered a horrendous accident. During a trip she agreed to make to Medjugorjie with a friend, mainly to escape her problems and not with any true religious conviction, she experienced a major conversion, which brought her back to Jesus Christ and a physical healing. Char travels worldwide giving her profoundly moving, faith filled, and humorous testimony. She is a Catholic convert and will have you rolling with laughter as she describes her spiritual conversion and physical healing in Medjugorje.

I also researched Medjugorje and the visionaries over the Internet and visited many websites offered there. I found photos and stories of conversion, and found these to be the true miracle of our Blessed Mother's appearances in Medjugorje. Reading A Child Shall Lead Them, by Wayne Weible, I found moving firsthand accounts from young people who's pilgrimage to Medjugorje changed their perspective of life. Visions of the Children, by Janice T. Connell, are personal, candid interviews with each of the visionaries and I found I had to put the book down, and take a step back, because of how concerning some of the messages were to me.

The story behind this photo given to Wayne Weible was that a man had taken a photo of the mountaion in Medjugorje and when he had the photos developed, an image of what is to believed to be the Blessed Mother was revealed instead. This is that photo. The Blessed Mother's messages always begin with, "Dear Children",and always end by saying, "Thank you for having responded to my call." She explains that we are ALL her children, regardless of what faith we belong to, or even if we believe at all. When referring to non-believers, she chooses to describes those without faith as '"those who have not yet come to know the love of God."In The Final Harvest by Wayne Weible, Chapter 21 entitled, 'Answering the Call', "Medjugorje is described as not just a village in Bosnia-Hercegovina where the Blessed Virgin Mary is appearing daily, but a way of fulfilling the call to holiness. It could easily be said that this is why Jesus sent his mother to the tiny village: to create in each heart the symbol of Medjugorje which is conversion to the heart to God. And that conversion comes through what happens to us spiritually when we answer God's call."From The Visions of the Children by Janice T. Connell, Vicka defines 'Conversion as "An awareness that we live before the face of God day and night and we are accountable for everything we are and have.Janice asks the following questions to the visionaries:

"Is the Blessed Mother calling all people on earth to be Catholic?"
"No. The Blesed Mother says all religions are dear to her and her Son. She says it is we on earth who have made division. She says we are all her children of God our Father. Jesus redeemed all. Not everyone accepts redemption. We have to choose God, to choose heaven."

"What about those who cannot come to Medjugorje?"
"Medjugorje is a condition of the heart. All people on earth are called to have the messages of Medjugorje. That is why the Blessed Mother has come."

"What is the blessing of the Mother of God you mentioned?"
"The gift is holiness."

"What about those who have not responded to her messages?"
"We are all free. Medjugorje is a wellspring of holiness. Not everyone chooses to drink."

"Tell everyone, that it is you who are divided on earth. The Muslims and the Orthodox, for the same reason as Catholics, are equal before my Son and me. You are all my children. Certainly, not all religions are equal, but all men are equal before God, as St. Paul says. It does not suffice to belong to the Catholic Church to be saved, but it is necessary to respect the commandments of God in following one's conscience. Those who are not Catholics, are no less creatures made in the image of God, and destined to rejoin someday the House of the Father. Salvation is available to everyone, without exception. Only those who refused God deliberately are condemned. To him who has been given little, little will be asked for. To whoever has been given much, very much will be required. It is God alone, in His infinite justice, who determines the degree of responsibility and pronounces judgment."

Our family began praying the rosary more often together and I, frequently throughout the day. I chose to pray with any free, small space of my time during the day. My husband and I began trying to live out the message of Medjugorje; with prayer, fasting, and fuller conversion in our faith. I visited Shipwreck Beadsand and had each child select colored glass beads to build their own chaplet with. The chaplet is a simpler version of the Rosary and consists of 7 sets of 3 beads. Each set of 3 includes one 'Our Father', one 'Hail Mary', and one 'Glory Be'. I used the Medjugorje chaplet I received from friends as a gift from their pilgrimage as my example. Mine had been handmade in Medjugorje from rocks from Apparition Hill (Podbrdo). It has a Terra Center (soil from Medjugorje) with the image of Our Lady of Medjugorje on one side, and a Trinity Crucifix.

"Dear Children! Today I call you to open yourselves to prayer. May prayer become joy for you. Renew prayer in your families and form prayer groups. In this way, you will experience joy in prayer and togetherness. All those who pray and are members of prayer groups are open to God's will in their hearts and joyfully witness God's love. I am with you, I carry all of you in my heart and I bless you with my motherly blessing. Than you for having responded to my call." [Monthly message given to the visionary Marija, September 25, 2000]

[Taken from Interview with Vicka by Janice T. Connell in her book, The Visions of the Children

"Is there any special prayer the Blessed Mother asks us to pray?"
"Yes. In fact, the Blessed Mother pleads with us to renew the family rosary. When the parents are praying for the children, and the children are praying for the parents, when they are gathered in love with the rosary in their hands, the Blessed Mother says we can see why the rosary is the chain that binds generations to eternal life. When families pray the rosary, Satan is helpless."

Another rosary of mine, that changed color in 2010 "What about families where some don't want to pray?"
"They desperately need the prayers of those who will pray."

"What about children who are away from home, or too busy or too indifferent to pray the rosary with their parents?"
"In a special way the Blessed Mother recommends that we should all be praying for the youth of the world. They face severe problems, not only here, but all over the world. The world as we know it is passing away. We can all help the youth with our love and our prayers."

Each evening directly after dinner we light a candle and pray around our dining room table with our chaplets. It is only about 15 minutes of time, leaving plenty of time for homework, baths, and bedtime stories. I was struck by the beauty, the first time, of hearing each of our children's voices praying together in unison. The orange and green chaplet pictured belong to our boys Gabriel and Liam. Our girls, Christine and Josepha have taken to carrying their's in their pockets during the day, so they weren't available when I took this photo.

The Visions of the Children Interview with Ivan, one of the visionaries

"How does peace come about, Ivan?"
Ivan, "Through the renewal of family prayer."

"That sounds so simple,Ivan."
"The only way we can help is through family prayer. God respects the family so much that when Jesus took human nature in the womb of Mary, He chose to live in a family. The family is greatly threatened now by the disease of materialism. We work, therefore we have no time to pray together. This is a great excuse, but it really is a great lie and most people are living this lie. The Blessed Mother has promised that for families who pray together there will be harmony and unity. It must begin when children are babies. It is a process. By the time children are in their twenties it is very hard to erase bad habits they have acquired."

"What about parental authority? Many young people rebel against their parents; ways.
Does the Blessed Mother speak about that?"

"The authority of parents is a regime of love. What kind of freedom do we give youth? Where is Satan? Do parents really help Satan by neglecting their duties? Their authority? Parents must restrict their own freedom in the service of their children, just as children must obey and love their parents. Sacrifical love brings great blessings for parents and children."

To give you an example of how special our family prayer time together has touched our childrens lives, I can tell you of a situation that happened the week I was writing this. Our son came home from school feeling ill and by evening his temperture was 103.9. Our daughter Josepha, came to me the following evening asking how Gabriel was and I told her his fever broke around 5pm and he was hungry. She told me she had prayed the rosary for him the night before in her bed. It seemed so rewarding for her to hear that her prayers were answered.

[Message from Blessed Mother to Mirjana in a small chapel in Portland, Oregon January 1990]
"Dear Children,I have been with you for nine years. For nine years, I wanted to tell you that God, your Father, is the only way, truth and life. I wish to show you the way to eternal life. I wish to be your tie, your connection to the profound faith. Listen to me! Take your rosary and get your children, your families with you. This is the way to come to salvation. Give your good example to your children; give a good example to those who do not believe. You will not have happiness on this earth, neither will you come to heaven if you are not with pure and humble hearts and do not fulfill the law of God. I am asking for your help to join me to pray for those who do not believe. You are helping me very little! You have little charity or love for your neighbor and God gave you the love and showed you how you should forgive and love others. For that reason, reconcile and purify your soul. Take your rosary and pray. All your sufferings, take patiently. You should remember that Jesus was patiently suffering for you. Let me be your mother and your tie to God, to the Eternal Life. Do not impose your faith to the unbelievers. Show it to them by your example and pray for them. My children, pray! Thank you for responding to my call."

[Monthly message give to the visionary Marija, July 25, 2000]

"Dear Children! Do not forget that you are here on earth on the way to eternity and that your home is in heaven. That is why, little children, be open to God's love and leave egoism and sin. May your joy be only in discovering God in daily prayer. That is why, make good use of this time and pray, pray, pray; and God is near to you in prayer and through prayer. Thank you for having responded to my call."

While reading The Final Harvest I noticed the chains connecting the beads on my rosary were turning gold. For about ten days I said nothing to anyone in my family, keeping it to myself, not sure if what I was actually seeing was real. One day though, I asked my husband to look at my rosary and he immediately noticed the difference in color between the cross and the chain. I then asked each of my children, individually and alone, what color they thought my rosary was.

They all looked, and then took a closer look noting the difference in color of the chain from the cross. None of our 4 children at this time knew anything about the phenomena of rosary chains turning 'gold' in Medjugorje.

[Message of February 25, 2005]

"Dear Children, today I call you to be my extended hands in this world that puts God in the last place. You, little children, put God in the first place in your life. God will bless you and give you strength to bear witness to Him, the God of love and peace. I am with you and intercede for all of you. Little children, do not forget that I love you with a tender love.
Thank you for having responded to my call."

I went back to the book I had read and found the page(s) where it described the rosary chains changing colors and took a picture of each of the pages with my digital camera. I did try to edit the images, not initially noticing the change in color of the wording, but feeling the wording was too light to read. I didn't have any success. I opened my Paintshop Pro 6 Program. The darkening button would not work! It was inoperable. This made no sense to me, since I had done this many times before, taking my photographs from the saved file from my digital camera and clarifying them in my paint program. I was stumped, taking and took a few minutes to think about this, and while I was starring at the image, I began re-reading the text, "The letters appeared in brilliant gold..." Slowly I realized the text I was reading was also appearing in gold! If I had been allowed to alter the image, it wouldn't be authentic or believable. These are the 2 unaltered images I took that day. Page 39     Page 40 , (where the wording continues)

[Given to the visionary Marija at Caritas of Birmingham in Birmingham, Alabama, on November 23, 1988] "Dear Children: I ask you to pray and give your life completely to God. I will give you strength in all of your needs. You can ask for what you want. I can give it to you. I will intercede for you to the Father."

Regardless of the many signs and wonders accompanying the daily appearances of the Blessed Virgin Mary, strong skeptics remain, including many priests. Father Jozo's, was the pastor at St. James when the apparitions had begun. He first doubted the visionary children, but had protected them and later was imprisoned for refusing to curtail their activities. He was forbidden by the bishop to celebrate mass in Medjugorje ever again. When Wayne Weible interviewed him for his book, he asked Father Jozo, "Did it grieve him not to go to Medjugorje now?" Father Jozo shook his head and smiled. "Medjugorje is not tied to a particular location anymore. It is more a spirit, a spirit that can grow anywhere." Medjugorje is a place in the heart that gives each who accept the message, the calling to be holy. I created this page, as an extension of my Christian adoption website,to honor the Virgin Mary. It is my hope that it may instill in your heart a desire to learn more about the amazing phenomenon occuring in the little town of Medjugorje, Yugoslavia for the past 26 years. [written in 2007]

"... The Medjugorje message is not just Catholic or even just Christian. Wayne Weible describes these visits to earth by our Holy Blessed Mother best in his book, " The Final Harvest

It is a pure message of love, a unifying love, forgiving love, a reaffirmation of prophecies of the 'Old Testament' as well as of the gospel message of Christ. What has been given to us at Medjugorje, is that every daughter and every son of every family and every faith, is a spiritual child of Mary, who has been given the motherly task of leading us to God. She was given this task at the foot of the cross as Jesus gave the ultimate gift of redemptive suffering, and said to His mother; "Woman behold your son!" And then to His disciple John, who was standing in for all of us, He said: "Behold your mother!" I used this dramatic scripural moment, uttered from the depths of despair of unimaginable human suffering, to define Mary's role as a human spiritual mother for all of us, as appointed by God. She is not a goddess who takes the place of Jesus; she is a mother who lovingly invites everyone to come to her Son. She has been sent by God in supernatural apparation time and again throughout the ages to ensure that the gift of redemptive suffering is not sacrificed in vain."

[The visionary Ivan, asked the Virgin how to help those doubting, to understand the apparations.
The Blessed Mother answered directly:] "It is necessary to tell them that from the beginning I have been conveying the message of God to the world. It is a great pity not to believe in it. Faith is a vital element, but one cannot compel a person to believe. Faith is the foundation from which everything flows."

MATTHEW 6:24-34
No man can serve two masters. He will either hate one and love the other or be attentive to one and despise the other. You cannot give yourself to God and money. I warn you, then: do not worry about your livlihood, what you are to eat or drink or use for clothing. Is not life more than food? Is not the body more valuable than clothes? Look at the birds in the sky. They do not sow or reap, they gather nothing into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are not you more important than they? Which of you by worrying can add a minute to his lifespan? As for clothes, why be concerned? Learn a lesson from the way the wildflowers grow. They do not work they do not spin. Yet I assure you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was arrayed like one of these. If God can clothe in such splendor the grass of the field, which blooms today and is thrown on the fire tomorrow, will he not provide much more for you, O weak in faith! Stop worrying, then, over questions like, "What are we to eat or what are we to wear?" The unbelievers are always running after these things. Your heavenly Father knows all that you need. Seek first His kingship over you. His way of holiness, and all those things will be given you besides. Enough then of worrying about tomorrow. Let tomorrow take care of itself. Today has troubles enough of its own.

[Message of March 25, 1992]

"Dear Children, Today as never before, I invite you to live my messages and to put them into practice in your life. I have come to you to help you, and therefore, I invite you to change your life because you have taken a path of misery, a path of ruin. When I told you "Convert, pray, fast and be reconciled," you took these messages superficially. You started to live them and then you stopped because it was difficult for you.

Know, dear children, when something is good, you have to persevere in the good and not think, "God does not see me, He is not listening, He is not helping." And so, you have gone away from God and from me because of your miserable interests. I wanted to create of you an oasis of peace, love and goodness. God wanted you, with your love and His help, to do miracles and thus give an example.

Therefore, here is what I say to you: Satan is playing with you, and with your souls, and I cannot help you because you are far from my heart. Therefore, pray, live my messages and then you will see the miracles of God's love in your everyday life. Thank you for responding to my call."

[Message of April 25, 1992]

"Dear Children, today also I invite you for prayer. Only by prayer and fasting can war be stopped. Therefore, my dear little children, pray and by our life give witness that you are mine and that you belong to me, because Satan wishes in these turbulent days to seduce as many souls as possible.

Therefore, I invite you to decide for God and He will protect you and show you what you should do and which path to take. I invite all those who have said yes to me to renew their consecration to my Son, Jesus, and to His heart and to me so we can take you more intensely as instruments of peace in this unpeaceful world. Medjugorje is a sign to all of you and a call to pray with seriousness. I am with you and your suffering is also mine."

Visitors Comments:
Dear Barbara; I just finished reading your message. It is beautiful and inspirational. I heard of sighting/apparitions but never researched any of this...quite remarkable and I hope you and your family do get to travel to Yugoslavia next year. Years ago a father I worked with had terrible challenges including a wife who left him, made false claims against him, persisted in legal action to prevent him from having contact with his darling little daughter. All this left him nearly destitude. Throughout this seven years of what I considered imposed torment by the wife, he never spoke unkindly about her, prayed consistantly (often to Mary), and quietly pursued avenues to have contact with his 4 year old daughter. He was nearly destitude, but felt rich in his relationship with God, and the love for his daughter. In the end, he had to do all his own legal counsel in the lengthy divorce proceedings as he was left with no money to pay a lawyer. I was one of the witnesses in court. I was his personal counselor, although I had concerns about depression due to his grief and loss, he'd never take medicine. He prayed and made a trip to a sighting where tears were coming out of the eyes of a statue of the Virgin Mary. I do not recall the location. He carried in his pocket the handkerchief with Mary's tears on it. Many people who got to know this incredible man came forward and offered their testimony in Court for free (including his doctor and myself). The judge was patient with him realizing he had no money, no legal experience only the love of his daughter and the faith he'd be able to continue seeing her. The judge was touched and fair. He canceled many court dates, cutting "to the chase" when realizing the wife had simply created unnecessary, unfounded claims tying up court time and making the man jump through hoops in an abusive fashion. He represented himself, had a Christian attorney offer to helping file papers correctly and plan his court presentations for free. Osama was from Jordan, but always worshiped Jesus Christ. He lived in Bethlehem during his teens and early adulthood. What a special man who touched the lives of many! To this day, he leads a very simple life enjoying his time with his darling daughter. Thank you for sharing your message with me. You spent a lot of time on it. Your explanations were very helpful to me. As I said the other day, I'd like to learn more about the Rosary and the prayers. So powerful and beautiful. ~Susan
Barb, I hope this note finds you well. I emailed you last year when my husband and I were considering adopting from India. We were a little scared of “special needs” and you were very honest with me about how you used to be scared of people with differences and how God transformed you. I really appreciated your honesty. It helped me to believe that maybe I too was capable of doing more than I believed. We are now in the final phases of adopting a little guy who was waiting due to a cleft lip and palate. He is in Guatemala, 8 months old and just adorable. Visiting him was one of the highlights of my life, along with my daughter’s birth and my wedding.. Some of our extended family has not been supportive and this is hard for me to forgive. God has used stories like yours to sustain us. We are also five minutes from one of the best cleft clinics in the country, though we did not even realize it when we accepted Alexander’s referral. God also worked through your site for me today and answered a prayer. I have a visual impairment and cannot drive. Doctors do not know what the future is for my vision and I just take things day by day. The Holy Spirit works out the details and I try to stay faithful. Sometimes I wonder why God would give me the heart I have for orphans without the physical capacity or mobility needed for a large family. Then I ran across Suntia’s story and realized that it is not up to us to know why. ……Just accepting God’s Will and being faithful. Hard to do sometimes…I guess that is why there are not so many on spiritual journeys. Thanks again…..from the bottom of my heart thank you for your honesty and sense of mission, for beign obedient to God and his will for your life. ~Natalie
Truly amazing Barb...thank you for sharing! ~ Karla
Thank you so much Barb. Like you, I do believe we are called to share what God is/has doing /done in our lives. By our testimonies perhaps some one will turn to Christ. Sincerely with love, ~Rachael

Message to Mirjana (Video)

"Dear children, I call you all and accept you as my children. I am praying that you may accept me and love me as a mother. I have united all of you in my heart, I have descended among you and I bless you. I know that you desire consolation and hope from me because I love you and intercede for you. I ask of you to unite with me in my Son and to be my apostles. For you to be able to do so, I am calling you, anew, to love. There is no love without prayer—there is no prayer without forgiveness; because love is prayer—forgiveness is love. My children, God created you to love and you love so as to forgive. Every prayer that comes out of love unites you with my Son and the Holy Spirit; and the Holy Spirit illuminates you and makes you my apostles—apostles who will do everything they do in the name of the Lord. They will pray with their works and not just with words, because they love my Son and comprehend the way of truth which leads to eternal life. Pray for your shepherds that they may always lead you with a pure heart on the way of truth and love––the way of my Son. Thank you."
