In 1986 a small software company was founded in Japan. Within the next year the company was on it's last legs. It's final hope was the release of the last game it could afford to publish, a game appropriately named Final Fantasy. Much to the surprise of the company the game was a huge hit. Since that time Final Fantasy has spawned eight major games, each set in an entirely new world with no connection to the previous one. What is it that makes these games so appealing? I can't claim to know the answer to that and I doubt that anyone could really tell you. If you've played any of the games you know what I mean and if you haven't, I suggest that you do. Square also has many other titles that are wonderful and worth playing.

Personally I can say that I love this series. I have been a fan from the very first game on the NES. This is the only of the five american releases that I have never beaten and is in my opionion the hardest of all the games. Also released were two and three in america for the SNES. Finally we come to what many people think is the triumph for the company, the much praised Final Fantasy VII. Square used cutting edge technology to take this Playstation game to a place where no game had gone before. The graphics, movies, battle system, and storyline were the best any Final Fantasy game had seen. Just out recently is the mega hit Final Fantasy VIII. Again Square has taken the world by storm with over an hour of Full Motion Video in this instant hit. Graphics are much cleaner then FF7 and a new battle system and world has been employed as with each of the other games. Overall Square has done the gaming world a favor by staying in the business and has kept the idea of Role Playing Games alive amoungst fans who desperately called for them. Below you will find links to pages dealing with each of the amercian releases games 1-3. There are also link on the links page for Final Fantasy 6, 7, and 8. Finally I have created a few pages devoted to my favorite Playstation games. You can find characters, storylines, and some tips and tricks there for Final Fantasy 6, 7, and 8.

I found the history on the Square Main Site and other sites that I frequent (all are in my links). The only thing I can claim is the layout for this page. I get no money for this and it is done for the sharing of my simple enjoyments.
