The Wilton family has left behind a legacy of fine cake decorators and candy makers. It all began in 1929 when Mr. McKinley Wilton began teaching the "Wilton Method of Cake Decorating," and founded the Wilton School of Cake Decorating and Fine Candy Making. Alongside stood his brother, Norman Wilton. Together they built the foundation on which Wilton Cake decorating is standing on today. Each of the members of the Wilton family, including McKinley Wilton, Martha Wilton Ellison, Norma Wilton, Mary Wilton, and Wesley Wilton are outstanding teachers and decorators. The school is still up and running and is located in Illinois.
