Now, to calculate the age of the universe we need to be careful of the assumptions we use. All the information I have used is directly from the Bible, apart from the age of Abraham. This has been calculated as follows, so I am open to suggestions, if my ideas are wrong:

My assumptions are, that Abraham was not Terah’s first born (There are too many errors in peoples ages later in Genesis if he was), and also that Abraham left Haran directly after Terah died (It is not stated that he did leave DIRECTLY afterwards in the Bible)

Gen 11:32 says Terah was 205 years old when he died

Terah was born in 1876 AU, so he died in 1876+205=2081 AU

Gen 12:4 Says Abraham was 75 years old when he left Haran for Canaan.

Acts 7:4 Says Abraham left Haran after Terah died

So, Abraham was 75 when Terah was 205, so 2081 – 75 = 2006 AU

1 Kings 6:1 Says that 480 years after the Israelites left Egypt, in the 4^th year of Solomons reign, the temple was started.

1 Kings 11:42 Says that Solomon was king for 40 years.

Knowing he died in 931, we know that 931+40=971. He stared his reign in 971 BC, so the fourth year of his reign was 967 BC.

967+480 = 1447, So it was in 1447 BC that the Israelites left Egypt.

Exodus 12:40 – The Israelites were in Egypt for 430 Years, so 1447 + 430 = 1877 BC

Gen 47:9 Says Israel (Jacob) was 130 years when he moves to Egypt

Jacob born in 2166 AU (using the table above), so it is 2296 AU when he moves to Egypt

So, 1877 BC = 2296 AU.

1877 + 2296 = 4173 BC

So, the universe was created in 4173 BC

4173 – AU date = BC date

Bishop Ussher says Age of universe = 4004 BC, so my calculation is out by 169 Years. I would like to know where his account differs from mine.
