Xaire!
Welcome to the Oracle of Seriphos. Here you will discover all the magic,
mystery and beauty of Hellenic Paganism.
For those of you who are newcomers to Seriphos,
Paganism and Hellenism, then let us
stop here on the shore and discuss them.
Seriphos is an island some 50 miles or so south east from Athens, Greece, in
the Aegean Sea. During the Classical Period of Greece, it was a celebrated
place to the great king of the gods, Zeus and his mortal son Perseus.
Hellenism is the belief system and practices of the ancient
Greek religion.
"Hellen" is the greek word for 'Greece'. How this came about,
we will discus later in this site.
Paganism is not a subject that can be summed up in one paragraph,
much less on one a page. The best way to learn about Paganism is to
go to my links page. You will find many great sites that
will discribe paganism in full.
So now let us leave this beauty scene and start to explore the city
and make our way to the Acropolis.
Oh, and the word "KHAIRE", it is a general greating among the ancients,
meaning "Hello, Bright Blessing" and such.
Enjoy!
