Haridwar-Rishikesh is a top pilgrimage spot for Hindus. Four of my friends. Four of us took off over a weekend.

That's the team on reaching Haridwar.

That's on the banks of the Ganga. It's actually an artifical diversion of the river. This strech of water touches the lives of people in the town. We could see many doors opening towards the river.

3

We had the famous pilgrim bath. The current was cool and tide strong.

Ahem that my friend showing off his muscles. He claims to be a fan of Arnold..

4

Towards the centre of the town was this huge statue which is a landmark down here.

6

Took a short diversion to reach another temple which is located on top of a hill overlooking Haridwar. We could either walk up or make use of the ropeway.

5

The whole city is viewable as also the hieght. Guess this was my biggest ropeway journey.

7

One hour drive from Haridwar was rishikesh. Saying has it that the hindu gods, Ram and laxman spent some of thier hard days here.

8

Towards the river is the Ram jhoola, a bridge which was reportedly built by Ram. Today an steel bridge stands in the same location.

9

Rishikesh is also a favourite place for tourists. On top of the bridge we could see this boating team passing by. This place also offers some exiting trekking trips which lasts for weeks. This place is thus favourite for foriegners.

10

Finally as the sun sets, I have a feel of the water here overlooking the town of Rishikesh and the huge mountains over.

11

There's a prayer held every evening and it's simple on the banks. Sang through the verses which gave me a lot of piece of mind.

That it

. I had a lot to cover in Rishikesh especially. Rafting and Trekking were two things that I missed. Will complete it one day.
