(A Psalm of David.)

Psalm 6)

1 O LORD, rebuke me not in Your anger,
Neither chasten me in Your hot displeasure.
2 Be gracious (or show favor) upon me, O LORD; for I am weak:
O LORD, heal me; for my bones are vexed.
3 I am also troubled: (Same as John 12:27. Cp. 42:5,6.)
But You, O LORD, [and] until when?
4 Return, O LORD, deliver my soul:
Oh save me for Your mercy's (Heb. loving-kindness) sake.
5 For in death there is no remembrance of You: (See 30:9; 88:10-12; 115:17; 118:17. Isa. 38:18,19. Ecc.9:10.)
In the grave who shall give You thanks?

6 I am weary with my groaning;

All the night make I my bed to swim;

I water my couch with my tears.

7 My eye is wasted because of grief;
It waxes old because of all my adversaries.

8 Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity;
For the LORD has heard the voice of my weeping.
9 The LORD has heard my supplication;
The LORD will receive my prayer.
10 Let all my enemies be ashamed and sore vexed:
Let them return and be ashamed suddenly.
