Welcome to the April 2002 edition of Pedigree.
During the first three months of 2002, the Wonderdogs played at some very popular festivals around Victoria. In mid January the band travelled to Sommers for the Coolart Jazz Festival. This was the first time the Wonderdogs had played at Coolart and it was a real thrill. The outdoor setting was very pleasant, and despite a small amount of rain, the festival was very successful with a good crowd attending on all days.
A couple of weeks later we ventured to Melboume to perform at the VJC Classic Jazz Party. This event was again a great success, with both rooms fairly crowded all day. The Wonderdogs were in good company with Jazz on Q, Mainstem, New Melbourne, Running Wild and Des Camm, also performing. A very enjoyable day for all concerned.
The second week in February saw thousands of Jazz fans heading for Halls Gap for the Grampians Jazz Festival. This is one of the fastest growing Jazz Festivals in Victoria. The Committee were right on top of things, and added another couple of venues to cater for the increased crowd and band registrations. This is a really friendly festival and the Wonderdogs were received very well.
Many people have said that the 2002 Moe Jazz Festival was the best Moe festival ever. For the Wonderdogs, there was an added bonus, we didn't have to travel hundreds of kilometres to play. We really enjoyed the Moe Jazz Festival and appreciated the support from our local and visiting followers.
On 23rd March it was off to a packed house at the VJC. The Wonderdogs per-formed at their best and once again enjoyed the hospitality of the Committee and Members of the VJC.
Well, let's get on with the next three months or so, and enjoy some more great Jazz . See you all at some of our gigs
