Tsunenori "Lee" Abe began music very early, and led his first choir at the age of 9. He attended the University of Tsukuba, where he started singing in jazz and salsa bands, and formed his first a cappella group. From 1996-1997, Lee attended the Monash University in Australia, as an exchange student. A member of "Viva Voce" (Monash's choir), he made many appearances, including the Melbourne A Cappella Festival.

In 1997, Lee joined the international cast of "Up With People", which did 150 performances in 11 countries. After that, he worked with a professional a cappella group called "Baby Boo" which toured all over Japan. Afterwards, Lee began performing in Tokyo with "Rag Fair", whose CD sales in Japan took number 1 in the year 2002. He also put together a Japanese all-star a cappella group called "Voice Connection", whose self-titled album sold out immediately.

In 2001, Lee started attending Berklee College of Music, supported by the Rotary Foundation's ambassadorial scholarship. Majoring in Jazz Composition, he has studied and worked with such musicians as Yumiko Matsuoka, Paul Stiller and Cheryl Bentyne.
