Raised as a performer by her own musical family, Christy Bluhm began singing and playing guitar for her church in grade school. Besides being chosen for several elite choruses and theatre productions, Christy started her first jazz band at age fifteen and was hired to play for the vice president of the United States, Al Gore, in 1995. After touring the country, her music was listed on CMJ's "Top 30 Play List" of college radio stations in 1996, and she contributed original music to "Blues in the Green Mountains: Volumes 3 and 4" in 1997 and 1998.
Moving back to Massachusetts reunited Christy with her roots as a jazz singer. She played through the Boston club scene and received a scholarship to Berklee College of Music, where she participates in many recitals and concerts. She was most recently showcased as the student performer in this fall's "Tribute to Gershwin Concert" which featured a 36-piece All-Star faculty orchestra. Over the past few years, Christy has had the privilege to work with Kim Nazarian, Phil Wilson, Gary Burton, Brenda Russell, Greg Philinganges and Kenwood Dennard, and has been chosen to be a featured performer for Patty Larkin, Bob Moog, David Foster and Shirley Horn. She is also presently performing in a US tour with 2003 Grammy Nominee Patti Austin's "Beboperella" show.
