I can remember Becky and I joking about her "trilogy" of gigs at WJTV-12 in Jackson, Mississippi. She worked at the station three different times.

I first met her when she was an intern in 1998. She returned to the station the following year to work part-time as a Production Tech. After a brief departing she returned to JTV to work full-time as a Production Tech until May 2003.

She wasn't much of a morning gal. :) Actually, one would get little more than a groan from her and a half-awake stare before 9am! She ran audio for the morning shows. That was appropriate for her...she loved audio and music and the radio biz.

What one saw and heard of Becky was her real personality. Upbeat, bright, loving, smiling all the time, and if you made her laugh too hard...she'd nearly wet herself and snort, which made her laugh even more! :)

Her dream was to be a "star" and her love was radio. I truly doubt Becky ever knew how many lives she touched. I doubt she knew how many people adored her and that she had become the celebrity she aspired to be.

Becky, you are missed.

My name is Fox, I was Becky's Program Director in Hattiesburg, MS, at WMXI. But first and foremost she was my Friend. Becky and I stayed pretty close through the last few years. We got to talk and email as much as we could. She would call me when she was having concerns about radio, if she should stay here, go there, was her air checks and resume good enough things like that.

I wanted to share 2 stories:

As some of you who know Becky probably knew, she loved Karaoke, and I had been doing karaoke at a bar in Mississippi. She came to help me work a few time and we would have so much fun just singing and playing around. She always brought a smile to your face, no matter where you were or what was going on. We would sit in my office and talk about where we saw yourselves in the future and what we were both about. We would talk sometimes for hours, about everything and nothing. lol.

The story that makes me know what our friendship means to her was when she had changed her on air name. She called me and said "Hey Fox, I wanted to tell you that I changed my on air name to Rebecca Fox" (she stole my name, lol) it was her way of saying thanks for being a mentor in the radio world she said. When she made it to Memphis we talked about the pro's and con's and she decided to take the job. I was really proud of her, But she always said I wanna be in Florida, on the beach, Give me a job with you. Finally a job opened up and about a month ago I offered her the 10a-2p shift here in Fort Walton Beach/Destin, Florida. she gave me what she needed to come and I got her everything she wanted. Unfortunately she turned me down and stayed in Memphis. Now I ask everyday, why didn't she just come to work in Florida a month ago? two weeks ago she joked on the phone with me about why didn't I name my newborn daughter "Becky". so her new nickname will be little B.

She will always be in my heart and everyone's heart that she touched. She was one of the sweetest, nicest, people I have every had the opportunity to know, and I pray that God takes care of her now. I miss you BG. There is a hole in my heart, knowing i will not be able to see or talk to you. but a smile on my face knowing there is a new ANGEL in Heaven watching.

Gossamer Wind (for Rebecca)
Quick like the wind
the wind that they stole
My faceless voice
now a voiceless soul

Never to know you
now that I’ll never
A voice recorded on hearts
lasts forever

I watch eyes and faces
a city in grief
as beauty slips pasts
like the turn of a leaf

Though breath has ceased
that’s not the end
You speak to us now
through the gossamer wind

Hey There! I am Amanda Coleman. I was a Pi Beta Phi with Becky at USM.

Becky and I became good friends when she was a pledge with my halo sis Christy Pearce. As Christy and Becky's friendship grew so did mine with Becky.

We had the best times together, Becky's outgoing personality made her the friend everyone wishes they had in college. She was smart, gorgeous, and extremely sweet. Which was odd because usually if you have all of those qualities you can be a bit stuck up but Becky was never stuck up. In fact I don't think she realized how perfect she really was as a person and friend.

I have so many stories about Becky that it would take forever to write them down but I will share one of my favorites.

I remember living in the sorority dorm Panhellenic (0therwise known as Pan-HELL!) and Becky and I used to color our hair religiously in the huge community bathroom. We would make a night of it and eat stouffer's lasagnas and watch either Muppets from Space (thanks to Jeff Klibert we were addicted to Pepe the Shrimp) or My Best Friend's Wedding (a Classic).

I remember when Becky bumped up from semi-permanate to permanate hair color. That was a big whoops!! Her hair turned from her beautiful dark brown to some kind of redish-organish-light brown that only Becky could pull off. I can't help but smile thinking back to those emergency 2 am trips to Walgreen's (wearing a hat of course)that we made almost every 3 weeks. Wow, I am surprise we both didn't go bald!!

Even though her hair wasn't exactaly what she wanted Becky never lost her sense of humor. I remember riding down N. 38th St. in her car singing along to Britney Spears "Lucky" (I can't believe I admitted that).

We always knew Becky was going to be a Star so the song fit perfectly but we did have to make a few adjustments like the part about "why do my tears come at night" turned into "why is my hair apricot" (as a tribute to her unique color).

Becky was always a happy fun person that made others around her feel better just for her being there. She was the best friend a girl could ask for and now I have the disapointment of having to choose another maid of honor. Becky was to be my maid of honor in April 2006.

To all reading this if you knew her you were "Lucky" because Becky will always be a Star!!
God Bless

My name is Staci Lax-
I just want to say that i am soo sorry for the death of Madison, she was way to beautiful and way too young for something like this to happen to her.

I listened to her faithfully every day and even my 7 year old liked to listen as well, she was the sunshine over a cloudy day - she had alot of spunk about her. I know that
I am talking like I knew her, but i didn't. Ii feel like I did.

Just know that she is away from any harm now and that our father welcomed her into the gates of heaven and she is surrounded by the love and life of HEAVEN

She is with the lord now, away from any harm and hell that we still have to
see everyday on this earth. And most of all she is your guardian angel
looking below every second of your lives.

I just wanted to express my respects & condolences
to the radio family & her personal family.

Sincerely,

Staci Lax / Memphis Tn.

Hi, My name is Dasha and I first met Becky at Hinds Community College.

I needed a roommate at the place that I was living at in Clinton and asked her if she would be interested. I think by that time she was ready to get out of the dorm, so she agreed. She was one of the best room mates you could have ever asked for.

The one thing that I remember the most about her was her love for the store Pier 1 Imports. Every chance we got, (which unfortunately wasn't very often) we would go shopping there.

We have been able to keep up with each other through the years. I am going to miss her greatly as will so many others. I am going to miss her "I moved again" emails, but now she has moved to a greater place.

Becky kept a good postive attititude during that time and we both went out togther that night even though we were late and had been broke down on the interstate.

She was a wonderful person and she loved her job in radio. She will be missed dearly.

My name is Vicki & I met Becky at SL100 in Laurel MS.

I became her room mate later on. Becky was a very beautiful and talented girl. Her and I were one of the same, we both loved life and radio. Here is a story that I think most of you can enjoy.

Her and I lived in an apt right across from the University of Southern Mississippi where she had lived for a while. Some situations came about with the lease so me and her had to find a new place I was looking within our budget and Becky was looking for the POOL!!!

She found some newer apartments about 4 miles from where we lived and she was so excited she brought me to go see and we started discussing the price. Her thoughts were, "Well why not pay more if there is a POOL.."

Being in radio you know at certain positions money is tight but we did move to those apartments. Becky and I went to the POOL once!!!!

Her friends and her family in MS are going to miss her so much. This was not supposed to be her time. Our hearts are beating for her family............

Love you Becky your friend and roomy,
Vicki
