As a professional clown and a mother, I have done 4000 parties and events over the last 10 years and really know what works for kids 1-8 years old. Simplicity is the key, and being organized. Young kids are so excited in having their friends over all at once...they forget to eat...so keep the food easy. The games should not be too complicated. Make the party length shorter rather than longer...easier on your nerves as parents. If you can do it at home...the kids really like to show off their room, their own toys, and own pets.
