History
The Duck family was started by Buck McCloud who was a transfer from the Delta Xi Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi at Emporia State University. Buck, according to his little, was a pretty simple guy so the Duck could have been chosen just because Buck liked ducks.
There were no specific traditions to speak of but there were hand painted sweatshirts that were given to each member of the family (Buck had a little sister from TBS who both he and Hugo considered to be a "member" of the Duck family or "twin" as Hugo put it) by Hugo Giraud. The shirt was a white sweatshirt with the frat/sorority and chapter on it's right sleeve, the class name, initials, and a Duck silhouette and number on the left sleeve, and their name across the top of the back with a cartoon duck caricature of the person where the big numbers usually go on regular jerseys.
Hugo left UCF in 1992 not having taken a little, making him the last member of the Duck family.
