The Parallel

Obvious really...

Shadows lengthen
And the night draws down upon me
Tomorrow I fly
For a shore both foreign and known:
I come home
From a place that has felt
Deeper than home to me
No mere dwelling place for weary bones
But a place to enliven my very soul.
To find this now,
Mere weeks after I thought that
At last I was settled,
Reminds me inevitably of you
Of that moment I first looked
And truly saw you:
My eternity,
My past and future entwined.
I only want to come home
That I may begin again
My quest to find you.
My beautiful lord
My undying prince:
My hope, my intent, my desire
All are bound up in you.
I return for you,
To a place that reminds me of you,
Though you have yet to walk
Through my door
Though I pray it will be soon.
