Mah Jongg @ Hengewitch.com

From the mysterious and ancient East comes the Mah Jongg, a card system similar to the Tarot, drawn up as it is in 'suits' or 'families' with additional 'court' cards, known here as Guardians and Honours cards, though it is twice the size of most Tarot decks. This can obviously provide a wealth of information about one particular issue, or cover a lot of ground in a more general enquiry.

Here at Hengewitch, we offer only one reading at present, which is the generic form of Mah Jongg reading as listed below. The beautiful deck of cards we use is based on drawings from much older representations from Mah Jongg cards and tiles from ancient China.

Lunar Spread (MJL)

So called because it typically uses 13 cards, this reading is the original divinatory form for using Mah Jongg cards. It is especially useful with a single question reading, providing a depth of information on one issue which can often be lacking in other forms of divination. The cards provide details of the situation at hand and suggest possible ways to resolve problems. However, a particular question need not be put forward as the cards can be revealing when read simply as a generic 'what's going on with my life right now?' type question.
