Brand New! Art for Lent by Artist L.L.Martin

The following works in mixed media are precursors for a series of work I have been planning since 2003. The Series I began with Las Lonely Girls in 2004. The current grouping represents the first 4 recently completed works using Scripture and prayerful revelation as the inspiration.
I am gradually working up to The final Grouping of Praise and Worship. This grouping for Lent was requested through a call for Artist by the current Church I am attending: Warrenton United Methodist Church. The work will be displayed at some time during the Season of Lent during starting March 3,2006 and leading up to Easter.

"THE ONLY WAY"
No one comes to the Father except by the Son.

"IF MY PEOPLE"
If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray, I will hear them and heal their land.

"WHOEVER BELIEVES IS SAVED"

We are saved by Grace not in and of ourselves That God would be glorified in the Son; For THE Son took all our sins upon himself that by his blood we are cleansed and by his stripes we are healed.

"WORSHIP THE LORD"
Bring the Sacrifice of Praise.

These mixed media works of graphite and watercolor are simple cartoons on medium grade drawing paper with some of the rough detail that would be found in oil paintings. The size is approximately 17" by 14". When the funding comes in to support the effort I will make modifications to these paintings for oil paintings; perhaps on board sized up to 48" by 36".That is also the size goal for the Praise and Worship Series as they will travel easier as a visiting exhibt to churches and religious organizations.
