Dave my husband's back has apparently gone out on him, he has a ruptured disc in his lower back that has acted up. We still have no health ins, so I have been treating him the best I can and will probably this weekend insist he go to the VA hospital. It may not be the best but it beats county hospital. I don't know where this is taking us, but I have infinite trust it will lead us to wherever we need to go. On top of everything we are just now getting back on our collective feet from the long lay-off,so God will have to provide and He will . What this will do to his job I don't know Our bills I don't know There are too many unknowns at the moment to even cover. So please add us to your prayer lists because I KNOW PRAYER had never failed me. And I need something I KNOW right now.

Some of you know that my mom is extremely sick. She has some type of dimentia that even NIH hasn't seen, happened VERY quick. I saw her for the first time in 5 months. She is in her own little world now and her body is wracked. She is only 64. Please pray for her

Singing!

Zephaniah 3:14, 17     Sing, O Daughter of Zion; shout aloud, O Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, O Daughter of Jerusalem!
The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.

How do you find peace and comfort when the storms of life rage against you? I find great comfort and delight in the above passage - especially in respect to the posts from last week. Look what it says - be gald and rejoice with all your heart! You know me, the way I do this is by singing to my King. Singing to your King in the face of a storm, especially singing God's word, is a wonderful way to face any storm, come into God's presence & feel His quietting love.

This idea is wonderful, but the idea that tickles my heart even more is that God is there taking delight & singing over us too. Isn't that awesome? Almighty God, the Creator of all things, delights & sings over us.

Here is the idea of that two way communication again. I just never applied it to singing. God wants us to sing with all our hearts to Him, especially when facing a storm. He also wants us to take time to listen to Him speak and even sing to us.

So next time you are facing a storm, why not try singing to your King and then let Him quiet your soul. During this 'stillness' be sure to listen for His voice - and don't be surprised if He is singing back to you!

Is He Calling? Part 2

Hebrews 4:12     For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

The day after the Lord gave me that song "How Great Is Your Love" by MercyMe someone sent me the phrase "The Joy is the victory before the battle". This phrase led to more insights. It goes with King David who had a large orchestra and choir. David and the commanders of the army set aside musicians. (1 Chronicles 23:1-5, 25:1-7)

Why would the commanders of the army set aside musicians? This question led to this passage.

Isaiah 55:10-12     As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.

And this idea, through worship, music, & singing the immediate, alive, in-the moment word of the Lord can be sent forth. This word never goes forth without accomplishing the purpose for which it was sent by the Lord. The genuine word of the Lord accomplishes things. It plucks up and breaks down, destroys and overthrows, builds and plants. As a result, God's people go out to face life with joy, peace and victory in their hearts. <--- Did you SEE that!!! ---> The Joy is the victory before the battle. Did you also see the sword of Heb 4:12?

This IS what the Lord is doing with me & Prayer Mail/scriptural prayers. I just never connected sending forth God's word with worship thru singing! If this sending forth is done with music, it drives the sword of the word even deeper into us than the spoken or written word can. Music cuts to the heart, motivates the soul, makes us feel and captivates our spirit in ways the spoken or written word cannot.

This is the idea of God's sword. By the way, the name of the book that led me to Prayer Mail & those scriptural prayers is THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT by Joy Lamb {NO Coincidence!!!!}

By showing me all these coincidences I think the Lord is telling me that He wants to connect singing to the gifts I'm using in Prayer Mail/scriptural prayers. I never saw that there could be a connection before! Look how the Lord confirmed these two callings and tied them together!

There's more...

A few days after these insights, I shared them with my Pastor of worship. I told him all these things, the desire to sing to my King, to send forth His word, the waiting on the Lord. During the conversation it came up that my heart was broken over the episcopal church. How it was hard to leave - hard to follow the call from the Lord to leave. It was only through the Lord's courage & strength I could do this. I used to go in the chapel at this epicopal church and sing & pray to the Lord, for His guidance & strength. The Pastor gave me a CD with songs the worship team is going to do.

I listened to the CD. The first 3 songs were about ... in brokeness of heart ... teach us a blessing ... sing to my King that is coming to REIGN in glory ... waiting ... The last line of the waiting song:

waiting in expectantancy - surrender to Your sovereignty, we're hungry for true intimacy Lord, for the things of Your heart. {right where I am now}

Then this intro to the next song...

You shine brighter than the brightest star, Your love purer than the purest heart, You shine filling us with courage and strength to follow You....

This is the song I sang most by myself to the Lord in the chapel at the episcopal church. How could I leave the place where I grew so close to the Lord, where I saw Him use me to touch others, where He raised this worship group out of my small group - even healing someone's hands to do it, where I had all these people that I love? How? Only by Him filling me with His courage & strength to follow - only by Him making a way, only by His grace.

This voice on the CD - singing the song I sang to the Lord -- it sounds like my voice!!!!

Not only did the Lord confirm where He has placed me now - He comforts me with the song I sang to Him in the midst of my pain. It's as if He said to me - I know, I know, I heard your song, keep singing to me, keep listening for my voice, I will keep giving you my strength, my courage, I will help you follow, I will make a way for you.

I find this incredible, it shows how intricate His hand is on my life, on our lives. It also shows His love. I encourage you to seek His hand on your life, when you see it - it's an incredible blessing!

Is He Calling? Part 1

Jonah 1:1-3     The word of the LORD came to Jonah son of Amittai: "Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it, because its wickedness has come up before me." But Jonah ran away from the LORD and headed for Tarshish.

Last night's small group was about hearing the Lord's call and obeying it. We talked about Jonah. This led me to share that just within the past week the Lord has confirmed two callings to me personally. This is another example of His timing - confirming my callings & then giving an opportunity to share! amazing!

I've been really struggling & searching my heart about where God has placed me. I believe He is telling me to go to worship team practice and wait. He is telling me this even though I am not on the team and it doesn't look like I will be in the future. I was praying Lord show me what You want me to do, if You don't want me here show me where to go next. Again He placed on my heart to wait, He also placed this thought on my heart from Psalm 57. This is the Psalm about being in the lion's den, how do you do that? The Psalmists' answer is keep your heart steadfast - so I prayed keep my heart steadfast. I then looked up this passage - this is what jumped out:

Psalm 57:5, 7     Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth.
My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and make music.

I did not remember the last part of this verse before. I then had to pick up my daughter, so while in the car I had music on & was still praying - I prayed the above passage - keep my heart steadfast, I will sing & make music, let Your glory be over all the earth.

Almost as soon as I finished praying, this song played.

This confirmed one of His callings to me -- that I did hear Him correctly. I am supposed to wait at practice, wait and sing to my King. There's a Part 2 to this story that I will share tomorrow.

For now let me encourage you to seek the Lord's calling for yourself and obey. The story of Jonah is a reminder of what can happen if we don't obey. This process is not easy, but if you earnestly seek Him, pray, search His word - He will answer and if you obey, He will bless you.

My husband, Andoh, and I are going thru some changes right now, and we can use all the prayers we can get. We are also waiting on the Lord to bless us w/ a Baby! He has promised us that.
Isn't waiting hard! I think it's hard, exciting and hopeful.

Please pray for the elections in Iraq.
1. Pray to protect units directly involved with the election - delivering machines/ ballots/ supplies. They are prime targets.
2. Pray for the whole election process.
3. Pray for intelligent, competent officials to be elected. If intelligent and competent officials are not elected to those strategic leadership positions within the emerging government; freedom will not have an opportunity to ring throughout this country.

At Jesus' Feet

Luke 10:38-42     She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said.

Here we read about Jesus in the home of Mary and Martha. In the story Martha is busy making preparations for Jesus' stay, and Mary is sitting at Jesus' feet listening to Him speak. Martha gets angry at Mary for not helping her and asks Jesus to tell Mary to get to work. However, Jesus refuses and instead tells Martha that He is pleased with Mary's decision to simply listen to His words.

So often it is easy to be like Martha and become so busy with different activities {especially if there is a large amount of work to do} that we forget to take time out to listen and be like Mary.

But until we start to do this, we will not truly experience the fullness of the relationship that God wants to have with us. We all know that in order to have a strong relationship with a person, both people need to take turns speaking and listening. This is a way to better understand God's will, His will for you.

We all struggle with this need to do good works and listen too. Here is what Jesus told some asking the same question.

John 6:28-29     Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”
Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

When you spend time believing and listening for God's will, good works will just flow from this relationship.

There also is a warning about doing good works in the Lord's name without this relationship - without spending time believing and listening.

Matthew 7:21-23     “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

So, let's help each other to remember to spend time at Jesus' feet, spend time believing in Him and listening for His voice, His will, spend time searching for the path He has marked out for us. I know from this time, from this relationship His fruit will appear in His time by His power.

Hebrews 12:1-2     Therefore... let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith...

Draw Near

James 4:8     Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

Jeremiah 29:13     You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

Hearing God's voice, hearing it more clearly is still on my heart. The above verses tell us a way to do this - draw near to God and seek Him with your whole heart. How do you draw near to God? How about in a quiet time - where you pray and study God's Word? The more you spend time in His Word, seeking Him with your whole heart the more you will know Him, the more you will hear His voice. This song reminds me of these truths.

Hear His Voice

John 10:14, 4     I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me–
... He goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.

Have you ever wondered about this passage? Have you ever wanted to hear the good shepherd's voice? Or hear it more clearly? Hear are some thoughts...

In order to know a voice you must take time to listen to it, right? This may be hard since there are so many voices in the world calling out to each of us. So how can we know it's His voice? This verse in proverbs gives us a clue.

Proverbs 23:12     Apply your heart to instruction and your ears to words of knowledge.

“Apply” means to make a commitment, to decide or to choose. First we must choose Jesus Christ, then we must choose to listen, take time to listen. How do we do this? Instruction is another key. How does the Lord instruct us? One way is through His written Word. The Lord teaches us by His Word.

The promise is that when we take time to study His written word and take time to listen for His voice, we will hear the living Word - Jesus Christ. We will know the good shepherd's voice and be able to follow.

This is not always easy, it takes discipline! But when we choose Jesus -- when we choose to study His Word and listen for His voice, God empowers that choice through His Holy Spirit. This discipline allows the Lord to order our lives in such as way that we are available to be used. Samuel knew this discipline when he spoke the following.

1 Samuel 3:9     Speak, LORD, for Your servant is listening.

We need prayer for Carol U., she had surgery yesterday on a shoulder rotary done and has had two heart attacks since and she is enroute to columbia at this minute for open heart surgery.

Job 12:10     Thank You Lord that in Your hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind. Remind Carol and her family whose hands she is in. Please say a prayer for Junior today. The weather is causing him to have a lot of trouble with his asthma. No trips to the hospital yet but last night and today have been bad, lots of breathing treatments and some suctioning. He will still smile but most of the time just wants to be snuggled. One of those days when you are lucky to have a minute to run to the bathroom.

I would like to request prayer for my cousin Yvonne Ramirez, her two girls Sarah(3), Elizabeth (7). Yvonne divorced her husband Mark less than one year ago due to alcoholism. Mark started having emotional problems a long time ago, he tried to commit suicide and jump off the San Jacinto Bridge. Well, he did commit suicide on Sunday they believe. He was 41 years old. Just say a prayer that God comforts the family and that Yvonne not feel like it was her fault. Her girls are ok, but its sad as they will never see their daddy as they grow up. Yvonne didn't want the divorce,..it has been very hard for her.

God's Perfect Timing

Ecclesiastes 3:1     There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven...

I have to share how God used yesterday's devotion Precious Gems to show me not only His truth in those promises but also His perfect timing and care of His children. My heart has been broken since I left the episcopla church around 1 year ago. I have not yet found a place in my new church to use my gifts -- at times this is extremely frustrating -- it feels as if a piece of my soul is missing.

Anyway, out of this pain I wrote Precious Gems. Last night was difficult again -- I was sitting in front of the computer in tears. I ended up reading something I wrote before about broken hearts (link below).

Broken Heart

It reminded me that the Lord does have a plan for me & He will heal my broken heart.

Right after I was reassured of His plan I got this email:

Thankyou for Precious Gems - this could not have come at a better time as I sat in front of my computer, crying and and then I read the passages you sent me......and they dried my tears. Praise God!

This mail dried my tears! It was proof to me that He is using my pain to touch someone else's heart. He is healing my heart. This brings me great comfort!

I find this amazing - He used each of us to dry each others tears. He not only demonstrated His truths in Precious Gems but showed His perfect timing & care.

This has lifted me up!

He DOES have a plan for each of us & He will use our tears for His glory. :)

Precious Gems

2 Corinthians 1:3-5     Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.

Psalm 56:8     You have collected all my tears and preserved them in your bottle! You have recorded every one of them in your book

I love the idea that the Lord collects each of my tears & saves them in a special place. The Lord feels and understands our pain. The shortest and most touching verse in the Bible is "Jesus wept" (John 11:35). He is the Father of mercies and God of all comfort -- He is right there, everpresent, to comfort and carry us thru our pain.

But this isn't the best part! 2 Corinthians promises that if we give our pain to God -- he can use it for His glory. Again in Psalm 126:5 -- He promises that those who sow in tears shall reap in joy. Our tears can be turned into precious gems for God, if only we come to Him for comfort and allow Him to use our pain. Look at the precious jewel of His Son the Lord Jesus Christ!

Next time when experiencing pain and sorrow remember to run to the Lord for comfort, He is the only one who can give you not only comfort & peace -- but who can turn our tears into His treasure!

Nothing will hide the glory of the Lord ..
the glory of the Lord will give us light, the Lamb is the lamp.

This sounds wonderful! So what do we have to do to have eternal life? Just accept God's good and perfect gift - Jesus Christ.

Praise! Clayton is doing much better, thank God. His "coma-inducing" medication has been too low to effect a coma for some time and will be weaned altogether by Sunday! He is very sedated even when awake and has more than a few medications to reduce and come off of, plus all the rest of recovery. He appears uncomfortable and possibly suffers some pain, still has the tracheotomy tube and a feeding tube, BUT he has been sitting in a wheelchair for a period of time the past few days, has responded when asked to move his arms or head, AND has not had a seizure in over a week! Not one seizure!

I would ask for continued prayer for my job search. I DO have a couple of leads to follow-up on, next week, and I ask that they could come to fruition. Monday I have a refresher class for Medical Assisting being offered by the Sutter Hospital's Foundation. I feel this will be a helpful addition to my resume', as I have been out of school for 6 months, and that's a long time without any continuing education.

And pray for Angela. This woman with terminal cancer who lives in Togo, has asked me to take trust of a fund she was left by her late husband. She has asked that I make contact with doctors here for her care, and believes that with prayer and guidance from God, ;she may be healed of her disease. I'm just praying that I can follow her instructions properly and help set up this care for her at a teaching hospital, the area's trauma center also has a cancer center, in my area.

We were just informed yesterday the facility I work in (a nursing home) is closing. Since my husband has MS & is unable to work, this job was ideal...close to home, part time in the evenings & all day on the weekend, good pay, and benefits. It's hard to believe after working at this place for such a long time (5 years next month), I will be unemployed!!! God brought me to this job & I'm sure he'll bring me to another one. Wait -- Clothed With Power

Luke 24:49     I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.

Waiting on the Lord has been on my heart for awhile, at times I find it frustrating. While being frustrated, I was reminded of the disciples waiting for the Holy Spirit in the above verses. I found comfort in this:

Think about the disciples waiting, none of them knew how long they would have to wait. Just think if one of them walked out of the door on the day before pentecost, saying that he is tired of waiting and is going home. Imagine his disappointment, when he heard the next day of all that happened. How close he had been to the answer. If only he had waited one more day.....

I have two people I am asking us to pray for.

My daughter Cheryl. She is living in an apartment building where she is having some very real problems with two tenants. The lady below is constantly blaring her music so loud that the vibrations come through and shake her furniture. She has attempted numerous times to discuss this with the lady to no avail or change. As well, her landlord isn't really doing much though he has talked to the women. Cheryl is so emotionally upset and being a new mom to a 3 month old, is stressed out. The music is disturbing the baby sleeping. It's usually all day and some evenings. Please pray for insight into how Cheryl can get this resolved without having to call the police. Pray that she will feel calmer and that the women will be more understanding and compassionate. Also, the other tenant is a friend of this women and they seem to be tag teaming her making this a difficult situation.

My son-in-law Jason. Please pray that he will work full time and in him will be created the desire to work. He's not been able to keep a job. He and my daughter are expecting their first child in April and currently reside in my home. I just ask that the Lord clamp my mouth shut so that I don't say unkind words as it frustrates me. This man is 30 years old. He's a wonderful person but his work habits are terrible and they are in financial problems due to him not being able to maintain a job for a long period.

Michelle is a young mother (20's) who was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and also is having family issues (has 4 children with CPS involved) and she is going through some spiritual warfare (feels she is being "haunted" by a dead cousin) needless to say I have tried to talk about God etc and she seems receptive she is really overwhelmed and her life is in turmoil, can we pray for her please?? I think she plans on calling me to talk "Bible and God" PLEASE pray for me to have the right words and for her to be able to hear/feel God in her life. I have never done this before.

Steps

Proverbs 16:9     In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.

How are you doing on those new year's resolutions? Maybe you didn't even make any new commitments -- seems they are hard to stick too.

Try not to give up or quit on them ... But, let's remember that the only real commitment for this year that is absolutely necessary to keep is that we ask the Lord where he wants us to go and what he wants us to do; then we go there and do it. It's good to have plans, but let's be open enough to let the Lord direct our steps.

Update on Mallory,
She is out of the hospital. She is doing ok. She has some healing to do. I saw her Sunday, her eyes look sad and sunken in as if a lot was taken out of her. In the name of Jesus, may God restore all that was taken from Mallory and that her parents get along in Peace, may they both stop hurting each other.

Pray for my little niece, Mallory, age 7. She is in hospital with Kidney infection and fever was 104 , at times 105. May she rise up and be healed in the name of Jesus. Also, may her divorced parents stop using her and her sister Loren to tear each other up. Mallory and Loren hardly know who Jesus is. I took them to a Christmas concert, and they asked me " Aunt Maggie, who is Jesus". This family needs Jesus, may they find Peace and love this year. AMEN!

my little sister, she's 49 years old, estelle, had psychiatric problems 13 years ago. she is on medication. at times she becomes paranoid and angry and bittler, etc., etc. she just went through a spell like that. please pray that she will keep her grip on reality and want to become more responsible about her health and life. pray for God to help me realize what is really serious and what isn't. thirteen years ago it all went right by us until it was too late. she spent one month in a locked psychiatric ward. you better believe we cried about that. i just want to be alert this time.

My prayer is for my job search. I pray to be blessed with a job in which God can use me as well as my skills as a Medical Assistant. Many employers want experience, but how do you get experience unless someone offers you an entry-level position?! UCDMC was offering a 'New Graduate' kind-of on-the-job training program; I took an application in for that. And I'm on-call for an In Home Services agency, to be a choreworker-caregiver to (usually) someone elderly, to help them continue to live at home. I go to the job center 3-5 days a week and put out resume's, so I'm doin' the footwork.

Make Sense?

Isaiah 55:8-9     "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD . "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."

There are times in every christians life when God gives you an answer to prayer or leads you in a direction that makes no sense to you. The question then becomes are you going to trust the Lord and wait on Him or are you going to try to move ahead and make sense of things on your own? It's especially hard for me to trust in the Lord and wait -- to simply wait for the Lord to move or make a way, and then follow. The enemy would like you to think that nothing is happening. It's very tempting to make your own way, to act on your own. I've found comfort in the following.

  1. The Lord wants our trust & dependence on Him, not ourselves. There are times when the Lord may delay a prayer answer to teach His children to trust and wait on His supply. (Exodus 16 Manna)
  2. Sometimes the Lord keeps us waiting to show His power and His sovereignty, that we may know that He has a right to give or to take away. (2 Corinthians 12:9 power made perfect in weakness)
  3. The Lord's plans are best -- He knows the whole picture. (Jeremiah 29:11)
  4. Waiting on the Lord may be used to cause a person to appreciate and be very thankful of the answer once it does come.
  5. Remember when things seem to make no sense -- God's love also makes no sense.

Romans 5:8     But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Psalm 136:1     Give thanks to the LORD , for he is good. His love endures forever.

Proverbs 3:5-6     Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths.

Psalm 27:13-14     I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait for the LORD ; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD .

Our friend Ruth is having surgery on Monday for a hernia repair. Could we please pray for her to have a successful uncomplicated surgery.

Also, could we pray for my friend Helen H. who passed away on New Year's Eve from a heart heart attack. May she make her transition from earth to heaven with ease. I know she has angels to guide her to her new life. Helen is a lovely woman, always there doing God's will, serving the needs of others and never complaining. Helen always wore a smile on her face no matter what was going on around her. She will be greatly missed. I would like for us to pray for her family at this time of sorrow and loss.

Faith

Isaiah 41:10     So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Psalm 139:9-10     If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.

You've probably heard this quote before -- "I believe in the sun when it's not shining, I believe in love even when I feel it not, I believe in God even when he is silent." It goes with what's on my heart today.

Have you ever felt that God was silent or far away, or that you couldn't feel or see Him in Your present circumstances? Or the world's circumstances?

David in Psalm 13 certainly knew this feeling.

Psalm 13:1-2     How long, O LORD ? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and every day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me?

Look at David's response to these feelings. He chose to trust the Lord anyway, he chose to believe God was still there even when God seemed silent.

Psalm 13:5     But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.

Here's a neat idea about faith. Maybe faith is reaching out for the Lord's hand in the darkness, believeing in the Lord and His love for each of us, especially when God seems silent or not present. Next time God seems silent in Your life, remember His hand is still there waiting for you to reach out. Trust in the Lord, reach out for His hand, let His hand protect, guide and hold you fast.

Romans 5:1-5     Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we a have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

Prayers are needed for Teagyn. She came down with a fever yesterday so I took her to the pead today. It turned out she had an ear infection (her first one), he wasn't convinced that it alone would cause her to have a 105 fever. we where sent to the hospital to do blood work, labs and chest x-ray it turns out that Teagyn has pneumonia. She was given two shots of a strong antibiotic and is going back tomorrow for more. Please pray for a speedy recovery. We are leaving for Spain to see DR Martinez on January 11th. Please pray that Teagyn will be well enough to travel.

Keep me in your prayers,I am going through some trying times at work. I am not well liked because I am Christian. They don't like may words and ways. I am looked at with evil eyes. But, my trust is in the Lord. Don't know if I should accept another job, may the Lord make my path clear for success.

New Dawn

Isaiah 43:16,18-19     This is what the Lord says, "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland."

The year is gone, finished, past. We cannot reclaim it or undo it. We cannot dwell on the things it has brought us. Tomorrow dawns, it will be another day, a new opportunity, a new time to show our faith in Jesus as Lord. Let's move forward in confidence, knowing that God already inhabits the future and promises to provide us refreshment.

Revelation 21:5     Behold, I make all things new!

Psalm 51:10-12     Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

Could we please pray for Trish? She is a mom of a special needs kid....She got a bad burn on her arm which got infected.

My Portion

Psalm 119:57-58     You are my portion, O LORD ; I have promised to obey your words. I have sought your face with all my heart; be gracious to me according to your promise.

Look at what you could have, and compare.

You could be a farmer with a rich harvest. But what are harvests compared with your God, who is the God of harvests?

You could be rich with gold. But what is gold compared with your God?

You could have fame. Isn't your God worth more than applause?

In this passage David chooses God as his portion -- his inheritance. When you choose God for your portion, you will have more than all else put together! He is the good shepherd, the God of all comfort, the God of all hope, He will guide your steps, He will be with you in the dark valley and all this is eternal!

Psalm 23:4,6     Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4     Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.

Romans 15:13     May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Please pray for my friend Cheryl

she is the one who is disabled lost both legs, one arm paralyzed and only has one good arm, she is losing use of that arm.... they are going to be putting her into a nursing home type of setting and have already told her that she probably wont be moving back to her house (warning to all if you are disabled even as a adult, you really don't have control of what goes on in your life if they feel you can't take care of yourself) Anyway's can we please pray that

1. They let her move where she is closer so her friends can get to her to visit and stuff

2. That Her strong belief in God doesn't sway and that he opens more doors/opportunitys for her. and just to give her strength to deal with the changes that are about to happen (she is VERY independent) and obviously please pray for healing.
