A prayer request from Cathy Mitchell. Her husband, Tony, is an Air Force Commander in Afghanistan. She received an urgent email from him this morning. It said, "We need Christians to pray, pray, pray." Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders. Pass this on to as many as you think will respond. Considering the increase in terrorist activity in Iraq, this prayer is more urgent than ever. PLEASE...pray always for our military men and women.

"Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of thy Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen"

I just found out today that my great neice, Kaylynn, will have to have the heart surgery afterall. The hole in her heart has not healed. They found 2 more smaller holes, but the doctors feel these will close on their own. But, the larger hole will have to be closed surgically. She has had a cold for over 3 weeks and cannot seem to shake. The doctors say it is because of her heart problem. She has been in the hospital since Tuesday. They are medication her, trying to get this cold out of her system. The tentative date for her surgery is on Monday, but the date could change. Please Pray for little Kaylynn, she is only 3 months old. Ask Jesus to guide her surgeons and doctors in their efforts to heal Kaylynn's little heart. Please pray for Karina and James,(her parents) and their families at this stressful time in their lives.

Please pray for me possible gallbladder pain!!!!! I am having ultra sound done.. and pray for dr.s to do their job right and do all the follow ups expected on my blood word, right!!! I had a gastric bypass done in Feb. and the dr's here are still learning the true knowledge in what this surgury is expected . More classes need to be done around this area the way they are done in vorees health center!!!! nutrition, and behavior classes.....

My family & I are considering membership in Easton Bible church. I ask for prayers as we consider this. Over the summer we left the episcopal church due to the appointment of a gay bishop. This was traumatic & difficult. I do feel the Lord has blessed my family though. We prayed as a family for the Lord to show us a new church. Easton Bible has been a 'safe' place for my family to grow and it does honor God's word.

Prayer for Power

Dear Lord,
When Your hand has moved in our lives
We have seen a glimpse of heaven on earth.

God's Lavish Display

Ephesians 1:7     In Him we have redemption . . . according to the riches of His grace.

Last year I visited Niagara Falls for the first time and was awed by the sight and sound and overpowering sense of it all. Every minute, about 200,000 tons of water plunge into the Niagara River gorge in a thunderous ovation to the lavish, generous nature of God.

The Lord could have used a lot less water, but He didn't. He could have made the falls lower, but He built them 12 stories high. And because they are what they are from the creative hand of God, people come from all over the world to see Niagara Falls.

What a picture of God's grace in Jesus Christ! "In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence" (Eph. 1:7-8).

The Greek word translated "abound" means "an exceeding measure, something above the ordinary." God's grace toward us is not squeezed out from an eye-dropper or carefully rationed like water during a drought. His grace is a Niagara of superabundance so lavish that we marvel at its display.

Today, as you approach God to "find grace to help in time of need" remember how much there is--grace beyond measure. --DCM

Hebrews 4:16     Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

The Lions Den

My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.     -II Cor 12:9

In one of my Bibles is a picture of Daniel in the lion's den. It's a beautiful painting, a work of art. What I like most is the position Daniel has taken. He has turned his back on the lion. His hands are bound behind his back. Nevertheless, Daniel is looking up toward a small window, praying. He is looking at his source of strength instead of the menacing problem.

I like to study the crouching lion too. One day it occurred to me that the mighty beast had a baffled look on his giant face. He wasn't accustomed to coming up against fearless men. Confused, maybe even fearful himself, he sat there and did nothing. Daniel walked out of the lion's den the next morning without a scratch.

Sooner or later all of us find ourselves in a lion's den of some sort. Maybe you're shut up in one today. Like Daniel, walk to a window and look up to God, Who is bigger and stronger than any enemy in the world. Turn your back to your fearful problem and face a God Who is waiting to hear from you.

Dear Praying Friends: Our family wants to thank you so much for praying for Brian. For the past few weeks he has been doing better. Even driving which he has not been able to do for a while. A friend has loaned him a laptop so he is able to work from home. Keeps his mind off the cancer. However, Fauna (his wife) is extremely fatigued. My sister in law is leaving tomorrow (Tuesday) for Milwaukee to help out with the kids. Fauna's Mom left early. These grandmothers are in their 60's. Brian starts his double shot Chemo/Radiation today for one and a half weeks. The chemo is being bumped up. After that there is a wait of 7 weeks and then surgery. Pls pray for strength for all concerned and the little kids. In

Could you please pray for me to let me be content and do God's will rather than my will. Taking care of my special needs son, I get restless thinking I need to be doing something else and when I try ie; a job, schooling etc the doors never open for me. I know God wants me to just be content caring for him but I feel like I am not being productive if all I do is care for him. (not to mention the extra income would sure help) It tears me up some times, I love my son and want nothing to happen to him and I am grateful he was given to me, it is just hard to see people around me going on with their lives, new experiences, jobs, homes etc and I sometimes feel stuck. I keep trying to "keep the faith" and know that God will reveal to me his great plan but please pray that I will have the patience to wait. I know that with so many praying, my soul will find peace and contentment while waiting for God's plan to reveal itself and he shows me what or if I am supposed to be doing something. I don't want God to be disappointed in me if I am supposed to be just caring for my son fine, but if he wants me to do something else.... I don't want to waste time or ignore what it is I am supposed to be doing.

My Husband hearing out of his ear good now just keep Praying that he can keep hearing out of it good.And just Pray that God open his right ear up so he can hear out of it again.We did find out that he has acid reflux he has to go for more test to see if he has to have surgery or not.Just Pray if it's God Will for him to have surgery the test will show that he needs surgery.I would like y'all to Pray about my Husband job to he is not happy there and it's put him in a bad mood and it's causeing us to fight.Just Pray that God will open the right job up for him. Thank You Lord that when You say "Be opened!" ears are opened and tongues are loosed. Let Brian's ears "Be opened!" Thank You Lord that his hearing is improved, please allow this to continue. Lord, please continue to remove the fluid out of both his ears. In the name of Jesus Christ.

Leon is in his 70's,and just found out recently that he has cancer.He went to the doctor last week and was told there was nothing they can do.No treatment because the cancer was in all parts of his body.He was just sent home to die I guess.His wife just retired this year.They were planning to do some traveling,and just grow old together,but this cancer has put an end to that.Please pray for both of them to be strong,and please pray that the doctors are wrong and Leon can be well again.

My mom, Yvonne, had to have an operation on her both of her hands. My mom won't be able to type for about 2 more weeks or so, but she is praising God for surgery that is bringing life to numb hands after 18 years. . Please pray for me as I go to church tomorrow regarding the spiritual warfare. God wants me to sing/devil does not (on praise team). Felt a bad sense last week when I was there. I love to go to church, but it's not good when you're afraid to go or when others aren't too nice at times to you. I just need prayer to know how to respond to all this. And to the people at my secular school. Also, pray for Jesus to open Brian's eyes, that he will give his heart and life to Jesus Christ.

My friend Dolores is asking for prayers for her mother, who is up there in years and has been falling. Also is concerned about her brother Charles who is ill and has test performed and waiting for results. May his results all be good. Her sister Maryann has just purchased a new home, Dolores is asking for prayers that Maryann will be happy in her new home. Please pray for my friend Dolores also, she has many health problems. The latest is Diabetes. I pray that she may have healing and/or remission of her illnesses. Dolores just returned from England. This is where she was born and raised, and this is where her family still resides. I know she misses them immensely and is very concerned about their well being.

Wanted to ask for prayer for myself I will be going into surgery Janurary 20th 7:00 am for an hysterectomy plus asking for my uncle Marvin he has cancer and there is nothing left for the doctors to do also for his salvation and for his 2 sons and family and wife its all in Gods hands. also would like to add Patty my first cousin she had breast removed about three months ago and now they are testing her for bone cancer. she is a christian and I know that God is looking after her.

Prayer- Please pray for our friends barbra and clyde. Barbra has bone cancer. She has been having chemo once a month siince sept 2003. Clyde had a tractor run over his leg last summer. He has been soley resposible for her care. He is exhausted and now they found out they are not going to pay for her bills because of his Va retirement which isnt even that much. and also now after they had interviewed and had it set up they will not pay for home health care. (medicare or social services either) She can hardly walk and use the arm on that same side of her body because of the cancer. Pray for healing and that they get the help they need .

Please pray for My daughter and her husband. They have a special needs baby. last fall she started working. which meant social services drop her from medicare for the baby. The baby has ear problems and tubes for nearly a year. Her ears stated draing. She kept putting off taking her to the doctor saying next week when I get paid. Her job became to much of a focus and She needs Gods healing from emotional and physial abuse she and I received at the hands of her own father. Today social services will be at her house to investigate and she says they threatented to bring her up on charges of medical neglect. Pray it will be a wake up call for her and that they wont take the girls away. ( they have two a 4yrold and the baby (2yrs feb 5th)

I was wondering if we could pray for my friends, they have been married 11 or more years and have gone through alot and are going through alot right now. Over the last 2 years the husband has been going back to his old ways of drinking and drug use (was sober a long time) and it is now gotten to the point where it truly is affecting the family (he actually hit my friend he has NEVER done that) and one of the kids asked them why they don't just get a divorce because of all the fighting. my friend is trying very hard to hold out, she loves her husband dearly but it is taking a toll on the family.

Please pray that God will come back into his life, that he will heal their hearts from all the pain and give them strength to keep the marriage going and that they will start going to church again (they used to go) since hearing God's word is what will set them free from the devils grip. and to make this family whole again.

Please pray for my daughter and her husband. They were going to church but got away from it when their second baby a special needs baby was born. My daughter raised in church and accepte jeses at 7; my ex husband abused us and when she was 18 and i finally left him reliazing God was not going to change him she rebelled not just against me but now I realize against a God who didnt make daddy love us like we Prayed for a beileved for twenty years of pain. She watches charmed ones and her older daughter(4 yrs) carries a book she calls her spell book to cast out demons. They spend to much time yelling at the 4 yr old and loving and taking care of the baby. Pray God will send them christain friends and claim them back as his own.

please pray for healing for my finger. I cut it bad on a vacuum sweeper fan. the emergency room couldnt do much accept clean it and dress it and tetnus shot and give me an antibiotc. The my nurse friend who changed dressing on it said that it looked like it was getting infected. The doctor couldnt get me in until tues and gave my husband a bad time because we have no money or insurance. Most like there isnt much he could do anyway. The tip is gone and half of the finger nail beings it was a vacuum sweeper higher likely hood of infection. I have a hole in my heart and infection could spread there. Pray the finger will heal and no infection. Thank you for you prayers

Please pray for Carol, my supervisor at work. She went to the hospital yesterday for a hysterectomy and it was discovered she has cancer that has spread to the diaphragm and bladder. She is only 56 years old and has never been sick other than minor ailments. The doctors did NOT do the hysterectomy and the doctors only drained fluid from her abdomen. Thank you.

Glennie was extubated successfully, though we are still not out of the woods. His sats dropped a few times after he was transferred to the bi-pap, but that is to be expected due to the secretions that have accumulated. Currently he seems to be doing quite well and is comfortable. According to pulmonology, if he is too weak to breathe, then that will show up within the next 24 or so hours. So, the next day is critical, but with each minute that passes we come out of the woods a little bit more. The next step is to wean him off of the bi-pap until he only needs it for his normal times (night and naps), and then HOME! Thank you all so much for your support. Take care.

Could you please pray that I will soon have means to pay or have insurance for a mammogram? I have never had one and I am in my late thirties. Please pray as I have no way at this time to pay for things like that. I think it might be a good idea to get one--- do you get them yearly? I just don't know anything about it. Thank you.

Zack is FINALLY having a good day, eating today, no vomiting and no pooping so he is keeping in the nutrition and fluid, today is a good day... I am hoping he will keep this up and be able to go back to school next week.

Please pray for Peggy who seems to have one illness after another, she survived breast cancer and now has fibromaylacia and recently been diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer.

Also one of Peggy's daughter Rhonda is having alot of problems with her husband and want's to divorce and move to MN closer to her family, but husband is preventing that. Please pray that they will feel God's presence in all their trouble and that he will guide them and heal them.

Back in November I put in a prayer request for the death of my sister Susie. Since then my niece had just gone back to Chicago after settling most of my sisters estate. Please continue prayers for her as she has not mourned the death of her mother yet. She has been very occupied with the financial aspects as well as making arrangements for her father who has Alseimers disease. He will be moving to Chicago in a few months to live with her.

I have some wonderful news... Dustin who is 9 years old with Hodgekins Disease (cancer) who we have been praying for.... Well he has only had 2 rounds of chemo (I think) and they just did a "pet" scan and they discovered that he has NO active cancer cells and the 7 tumors in his neck have shrunk to almost if not gone AND the mass in his chest next to his heart, they think is now scar tissue and no longer a tumor (not sure yet) BUT the awesome news is that he has NO active cancer cells. This means that this course of treatment is working for him.

The doctors say he is a "fast responder" (why is it doctors don't see the power of God and always give their medicine the credit?)

Anyways, we know who the "fast responder" is! :)

I praise God that he is healing Dustin so fast, that he has let Dustin keep an almost normal routine, that Dustin is not having a to hard of time with the Chemo and also I praise him for giving his family the strength to deal with this, they are doing awesome with all of this.

I thank you all so much for your prayers and I hope that we will be able to continue to keep praying for him! The power of prayer really does work!! I will keep you all updated!

I have learned more about Diane's cancer and her financial problem. Diane has no insurance and cannot afford Chemo. Pray that she is able to find a source to help her receive the treatments she needs. Also, pray that she is healed of her cancers.

Could you please pray for my son Zack... he is a special needs child with some health issues (missing intestine) anyways a few weeks ago I got him through a gut episode because of something viral, he lost a pound because of it. Now for the last 3 days he has been barely eating again everything is going right through him... he woke up this morning very lathargic.... he is on the verge of going into hospital to be put on IV to keep in fluids I am trying to keep him home... Please pray for him to get well.

Also my friend Carolyn is having surgery tomorrow (hysterrectomy) she is very scared, I promised I would pray for her, could we include her in our prayers too?
